OPIC Sites One Million CAFTA Promotion Grant For "Manager" of Moulitsas' "Family Business."

Markos C.A. Alberto Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (Kos of DailyKos and Netroots Nation) is a
family member of Carlos AlbertoDelgado ZÚÑIGA, the man in the photograph above below, manager of the Zúñiga "famly hotel". He's also the president of El Salvador's powerful CASATUR, the national tourism Board. A press release by the US Overeas Private Investment Corportation says that one of the family business received a one million dollar loan guarantee from the US OPIC.

So, why has Markos Moulitsas presented himself as a humble immigrant, telling the media, "I don't have money. I don't come from a famous or powerful family I was an immigrant to the United States", (whe he was actually born in Chicago and comes from an enormously powerful and wealthy Salvadoran family?)

Like Markos Alberto Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ), the second last name of the man above is ZÙÑIGA. But, like MAMZ, he prefers not to use this name in public, and his second last name appears mostly in public documents related to his business interests.

Hmmmmmmmmm.

He is listed in Salvadoran government documents as the "manager" of the Markos Moultisas "family business," the Jaltepeque Suites Hotel and he acknowledges that he owns the parent company, Club Joya del Pacífico. He acknowledges in the interview linked above that the Jaltepeque Suites Hotel is his business and this information, combined with MAMZ's assertion that the same business is a "family business," makes the man above a "family member" of Markos Alberto Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ).

In addition to acknowledging in the article linked above that the Jaltepeque Suites Hotel is his business, he further acknowledges that the Jaltepeque Suites Hotel is part of the Joya del Pacífico Group, which includes an array of hotel, condominium, club, pool and spa facilities along the banks of the Jaltepeque Estuary in La Paz, El Salvador.

If a link doesn't work, be patient. Look for an updated link in the articles below, use the search function in the top left, and/or look to this list of all but one of the articles written by Markos C. A. Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) when he was at Northern Illinois University (NIU), writing extreme right-wing letters to the editor. Interestingly, the one known missing article still is not in the archives although it was faxed to me by Northern Star staff and republished here. That article was the first in a series of five articles about "racism", four of which were assigned tasks and described the "racism" and religious persecution problems on campus based on interviews.

In the fifth article, which was not commissioned, MAMZ declared that, having completed the obligatory four articles, the fifth article would announced his intention to withdraw again into "detached selfishness", grateful that he was not one of "them", "whose skin color or religious persuassion (sic) made them the target of bigotry and discrimination. They would never be able to escape who they were."

This is MAMZ announcement that he is NOT a Latino, but is a white man, and he underlines this today by insisting that it is improper to address him using his mother's Latino name, "Zúñiga".

In looking for the MAMZ's student newspaper articles, remember that the NIU student newspaper, the Northern Star, has changed the Internet addresses of these articles three times [now four times as of 9/2010] in last 30 months, making all old links obsolete and sometimes making all of the articles temporarily unavailable.

It is possible that electing yet another white man to the Presidency will end the poverty of the historically disenfranchised, with John Edwards serving as a "pass through" for those who have historically been disincluded legally and by custom. But this is a very convoluted way of achieving what could be achieved much more directly by electing Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. ..."
