The Truth About Kos (DailyKos)

During my days at DailyKos, I opposed John Edwards candidacy because there were two better candidates (one of whom was elected President), but also because Edwards DailyKos-supported candidacy would have perpetuated what was then a 43-term white male monopoly of the Democratic Party nomination and of the US Presidency.

This didn't go over well at the 96% white DailyKos. (See Quantcast DailyKos demographic data in right sidebar.) I attacked Edwards from every conceivable (to me) angle and many other DailyKos participants resented that. How could I insist, day after day, that the next US President ought not necessarily be a white man, when everyone knew that ALL US presidents had been white men?

As we all know now, the Democrats would certainly have lost the election in 2008 had John Edwards been nominated, as a plurality at DailyKos preferred. John Edwards, it turned out, was a selfish, shameless philanderer, while his wife was an knowingly enabling, manipulative and exceedingly ambitious woman, who hid all she knew about John's clear unfitness for the nomination.

Today, CNN reports that:

Edwards is charged with six felony and misdemeanor counts related to donations to and payments from his failed 2008 presidential campaign. He is accused of conspiracy, issuing false statements and violating campaign contribution laws. He denies any wrongdoing.

Edwards' wife, Elizabeth, died of cancer in December 2010. The couple had separated that year, shortly after Edwards admitted that he had fathered a daughter with Rielle Hunter, who was hired to make documentary videos for his campaign for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.

Had either or both of John and Elizabeth Edwards succeeded in their nomination ambitions, they would have destroyed the Democratic Party's hopes for regaining the presidency, because lying John Edwards' General Election campaign would have been embarrassingly over before it could begin in earnest. So, I now hold John Edwards in very low esteem.

When John Edwards is in Federal prison, mumbling to Elizabeth Edwards, who earned her place in Hell, then both of them will have gotten their due for the harm they knowingly and intentionally tried to do to the Democratic Party, simply for their own personal gain. It is no longer possible to assert that Edwards wanted to help the poor or anyone else through his candidacy, because the only way he could have helped would have been to get out of the race, given what would soon become known about him.

"Banned at Kos" is Ongoing Topic at Tikun Olam Arab-Israeli Topic Blog

Two recent visitors to the Tikun Olam blog have added information to a thread started in 2006 about banning at DailyKos. In summary, many DailyKos participants eventually realized that any defense of the Palestinians or criticism of the Israelis would lead to the writer being banned from participation at DailyKos.

Atheo, for example, found out very quickly this month that there are some subjects you simply are not allowed to address at DailyKos. Atheo discussed his experience at Tikun Olam.

It's ironic that the mainstream media constantly address the issue of Palestinians and Israelis, but a supposedly "liberal," "leftist" blog bans the topic entirely. DailyKos does not seem to hold the sentiment behind the First Amendment -- freedom of speech -- in very high esteem.

For example, DailyKos bans all discussion of how and why and by whom the Twin Towers were destroyed on 9-11. Meanwhile, YouTube is full of videos (2.5 Million) typically doubting the official story of 9-11. and Time and CBS have discussed the theory that 9-11 did not occur as reported, but was perhaps an inside job. So, you have the mainstream media and Google sharing information about an issue whose mere mention will get you banned at DailyKos. Why does DailyKos believe it is crucial to prevent this discussion, even as Google/YouTube, a much larger media corporation, is a veritable treasure trove of information about 9-11. Google permits it, but DailyKos blocks it.

It seems to me that the roles of the big box blog and the mainstream media have been reversed and many issues that can be covered in the mainstream media are now (and have been virtually since the beginning) BANNED at DailyKos. And that is the wall against which Atheo bumped his nose in his first attempt to address what was important to him at DailyKos.

I don't visit DailyKos anymore, except to see them go berserk when they realize that the guy they banned from their little backwater published opinion pieces at, for example, Huffington Post, and is quoted in the Washington Post and at Slate.

When I initially began contacting the mainstream media about my experience of being banned at DailyKos for expressing the views of a Black man, big wigs at DailyKos mocked and derided me. In think they underestimated me, as you can see when you read the article, "Bloggers' Convention a Sea of Middle-Aged White Males," for which I spoke with the Washington Post writer beforehand. I found bigger and better places and ways to publish my opinions after I was banned from DailyKos.

With 456,000 hits at Google for "Moulitsas" and "CIA," mostly based on information first widely disseminated at my Truth About Kos blog, I believe I have done what I could to explain to the public why DailyKos and its cohorts (look at its blog list) serve the conversation-curtailing role that they do in the whitosphere.

I also note that history and these two historical figures have proved my judgment correct about John and Elizabeth Edwards, whose DailyKos-supported candidacy for the presidency I opposed because, among other factors, John's election would have perpetuated what was then a 43-term white male monopoly of the US Presidency.

And now John Edwards suddenly discovers that he has a life-threatening heart condition just before his aforementioned Federal trial was scheduled to begin? I was wondering what this lying lawyer would fabricate to derail his trial. And now we know. The man who was the apparent epitome of health has discovered that he has a heart condition and so, regrettably, cannot go ahead with his trial at the moment. Maybe he can join his wife in her present abode and thereby avoid the trial entirely.

Minneapolis "City Pages" Shows Contradictions in MAMZ's Disinformation Campaign About Himself and His "Right-Sympathizing" Family History

On June 8 2011, Jessica Lussenhop of Minneapolis-St. Paul's "City Pages' published an article covering what Markos Moulitsas says are important moments and facts in his blog's and the whitosphere blogs' history. She gets one crucial fact right that other mainstream media biographers have ignored. She says,

WHEN MOULITSAS WAS A nine-year-old boy living in civil war-torn El Salvador, his parents received a strange envelope in the mail. Inside were photos of Moulitsas and his brother being driven to their grandmother's, and getting on and off the school bus. It was a message to the right-sympathizing family from the communist guerilla fighters: We can take your children at any time. Terrified, the family fled to Chicago in 1980. (Emphasis added.)

This is the first time I recall a mainstream newspaper making the obvious observation and stating as fact the reality that Marcos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) comes from a "right-sympathizing family."

The Indictment of Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ) by Justice and History (Updated with Additional Information and Counts) pointed this out in 2007. This fact is important because MAMZ has consistently lied about it and because it stands at odds with MAMZ's own incredible assertion, through his Cato Unbound biography, that his heroes are the late (assassinated by the Salvadoran right wing) Catholic Archbishop Arnulfo Romero, who was identifying and organizing increasingly with goals of the the Salvadoran leftist majority when he was assassinated, as well as Cesar Chavez, the famous Latino union organizer.

On September 9, 2006, the editors of Cato Unbound wrote of MAMZ,

Moulitsas’s heroes are Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero, Cesar Chavez, and, above all others, his father. Moulitsas currently resides in Berkeley, California, with his wife and son.

The Cato Institute can only have written this because this is what MAMZ told them.

The media has never asked MAMZ to explain why someone like himself, who acknowledges voting for President George H. W. Bush in 1992, when the right-wing Salvadoran Government's civil war against leftists was raging, would also admire the leftist Archbishop Romero, who was assassinated after increasingly supporting the Salvadoran left wing in its opposition to the right-wing Government's war against its leftist opposition. MAMZ tries to position himself as a leftist while acknowledging that he voted and politically organized as a Republican.

MAMZ has said of his politics at the time of the election of George H.W. Bush, in an autobiographic piece at the American Prospect:

I was also a Republican. As a 17-year-old precinct captain in 1988, not even old enough to vote, I helped deliver one of the district’s best precinct performances for Henry Hyde. I had a framed picture of me with George H. W. Bush.

George H. W. Bush was elected in 1988, when the Salvadoran civil war was raging between a right-wing Government and a left-wing populace, which populace was supported by some Catholic Church officials who found themselves morally compelled to side with the terrorized leftist public against the Government.

PBS has written:

Truth Revealed With continuing reports of atrocities and murders in El Salvador, the U.S. Congress no longer accepted the State Department's assurance that things were getting better. Speaker of the House Tom Foley created a special task force to monitor El Salvador's investigation of the murders.

Congressman Joe Moakley of Massachusetts was selected to head up the investigation. During his research and visits to El Salvador, Congressman Moakley encountered a massive cover-up, deep problems with the Salvadoran armed forces, conspiracy and lies, which led him to challenge U.S. policy. He discovered that from a very high level, the armed forces of El Salvador had been responsible for the murders of the Jesuits. His investigation also led to the conclusion that certain levels of the U.S. government had known about the situation long before the task force was created.

Moakley's report revealed the cruel injustice of the U.S.-backed Salvadoran government, setting in motion an international process to end the war. Both sides of the conflict in El Salvador approached the United Nations for help in negotiating a settlement. The United Nations sponsored talks, which culminated in the January 1992 signing of the Peace Accords, ending 12 years of civil war.

So, what did MAMZ, who came from a right-wing family and voted for a right-wing President in the United States, nonetheless admire about the left-leaning Archbishop Romero and Cesar Chavez? And how did MAMZ's admiration for Romero and Chavez become convoluted into his support for Republican politics in the United States? Jessica Lussenhop's story in Minneapolis-St. Paul's "City Pages'
seems to offer a ready answer. MAMZ is from a "right-sympathizing family"and his assertions to the contrary are simply bold-faced lies.

MAMZ disingenuous and dishonest in his identification of his "heroes," and was engaging in political positioning that derived from his desire to be seen as a "leftist." Since MAMZ has admitted being trained by the CIA to be as a secret agent between 2001 and 2003, while he started DailyKos in 2002, wasn't MAMZ's incredible assertion that he admired Archbishop Romero and Cesar Chavez just more CIA-trained misinformation, or does that sort of self-serving posturing come naturally to MAMZ? It seems that both motivations have a basis in fact.

What stands out about the two leaders whom MAMZ claims to admire, is that they led Latin Americans in fighting for liberation from oppression. And yet MAMZ himself has apologetically and categorically rejected any such role for himself with respect to Latin Americans. After the Northern Illinois University "(NIU) student newspaper assigned MAMZ to write about "racism", and MAMZ wrote a mult-part series on the topic, MAMZ wrote an unassigned piece summing up his attitude toward the task and the people he had been assigned to cover.

He said in the Northern Star,

"And as I left the ugly reality of racism behind, it struck me that what was such an easy and trivial exercise for me would be impossible for anyone whose skin color or religious persuassion (sic) made them the target of bigotry and discrimination. They would never be able to escape who they were." (Emphasis added.)

MAMZ has made good on his promise to ignore Latinos; Quantcast.com says that only 1% of the readership at DailyKos is Latino, even though 67% of Latinos voted for Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008. The quote above shows why a Black presidential candidate is so much better at leading Latinos than is a Salvadoran blogger "from a right-sympathizing family" with the resources to fly to Chicago, with legal immigration status, when necessary. (Emphasis added.)

CIA Protected Two 9-11 Hijackers from Arrest Before 9-11, Says Clinton and Bush Counterterorrism Director, Richard Clarke

Based on information from Richard Clarke Former White House counterterrorism czar under Presidents Clinton and Bush, the Daily Beast asks,

Did the CIA keep mum about two 9/11 hijackers because it tried and failed to recruit them? Anthony Summers and Robbyn Swan [are] authors of 'The Eleventh Day,' on whether there’s any truth behind ex-Bush official Richard Clarke’s claim.

Here's the conspiracy theory, reported at the DailyBeast and offered by the highest-level White House official on counterterrorism at the time, based on the facts available. Close your eyes and ears at DailyKos, because this theory involves the same CIA that was training Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) to be a "secret agent" during and two years after the year of the 9-11 terror attacks:

Former White House counterterrorism coordinator Richard Clarke has reignited controversy by speculating, in an interview cited in Thursday’s Daily Beast, that the CIA intentionally withheld advance knowledge of two of the 9/11 hijackers from the White House and the FBI, in an attempt to cover up the agency’s failed effort to recruit the two men as assets.

There's a 9-11 conspiracy theory that could not be printed at DailyKos (because Kos doesn't tolerate conspiracy theories about the CIA) even though this theory comes from Richard Clarke, top counter-terrorism aide to Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, before, during and after 9-11.

Former White House counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke says that although the CIA shared much information with him, he and the Bush and Clinton White Houses were never told that the CIA had identified two of the hijackers of the 9-11 jets long before the attacks; knew that they had attended Al Quaeda attack meetings overseas and knew their exact whereabouts within the United States.

The DailyBeast reports:

Clarke’s comments—and immediate, emphatic denials from former CIA director George Tenet and two senior CIA officials involved—go to the core of one of the enduring enigmas about 9/11.

Things began to unravel for the CIA on the day of the attacks, just four hours after the Qaeda strikes, according to research we conducted for our new book, The Eleventh Day. Soon after 1 p.m. that day, at agency headquarters in Langley, an aide handed Director Tenet the passenger manifests for the four downed airliners. “Two names,” he said, placing a page on the table where the director could see it, “these two we know."

Tenet looked, then breathed, “There it is. Confirmation. Oh, Jesus ...”
There on the manifest for Flight 77, listed as traveling in first class, were the names of Nawaf al-Hazmi and his brother, Salem. Also on the manifest, near the front of the coach section, was passenger Khalid al-Mihdhar.

The names Hazmi and Mihdhar were instantly familiar, Tenet has said, because his people had learned only weeks earlier that both men might be in the United States. According to the director’s version of events, the CIA had known of Mihdhar since as early as 1999, identified him as a terrorist suspect by December that year, had him followed, learned he had a valid multiple-entry visa for the United States, and placed him and comrades—including Hazmi—under surveillance for a few days in Southeast Asia. Later, in the spring of 2000, the agency had learned that Hazmi, who also had a multiple-entry visa, had arrived in California.

The CIA knew of two of the hijackers but made no attempt to prevent them from entering the United States and no attempt to detain them. This, according to Counterterrorism Chief Richard Clarke, is not a "conspiracy theory, but is rather a conspiracy fact:

Clarke, who led governmentwide counterterrorism efforts from the White House during the Bush and Clinton administration, has said in the past that he was astonished to learn after 9/11 that the CIA had long known about the presence of Hazmi and Mihdhar inside the United States.

“To this day, it is inexplicable why, when I had every other detail about everything related to terrorism, that the director didn’t tell me, that the director of the counterterrorism center didn’t tell me,” Clarke said in the interview for the documentary, referring to Tenet and Cofer Black. “They told us everything—except this.”

He said that if he had known anything about Hazmi and Mihdhar even days before 9/11, he would have ordered an immediate manhunt to find them—and that it would have succeeded, possibly disrupting the 9/11 plot.

“We would have conducted a massive sweep,” he said. “We would have conducted it publicly. We would have found those assholes. There’s no doubt in my mind, even with only a week left. They were using credit cards in their own names. They were staying in the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square, for heaven’s sake.” He said that “those guys would have been arrested within 24 hours.”

It has always seemed incredible and inexplicable to the average American that hijackers could attend Al Quaeda terrorism planning meetings and then enter and leave the United States undetected.

Here's my conspiracy theory: Director Tenet kept Clarke out of the loop on director orders from Vice President Dick Cheney, who perceived the immense political benefits that would derive from letting these men go ahead with their terrorist plots, and then bringing the nation into a virtual state of siege based on what had happened. The power of the Presidency (and the Vice President) was greatly enhanced by the 9-11 attacks.

31 Things You Should Know About the Owner of DailyKos and His Family

Having discovered that Markos C. A.Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ), (founder and owner of DailyKos) has a long history of participation in and support of the Republican Party and, moreover, trained or worked or "interviewed" with the US Central Intelligence Agency betwee 2001 and 2003, now research into the life and history of Markos C. A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ) has revealed and established the following facts and, therefore, justice and history now bring this thirty-one count indictment of Markos C. A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ):

1). Markos C. A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA was actively at Central Intelligence Agency offices in Washington, DC, training to become a CIA agent for two years, between 2001 and 2003, with or without pay. (Listen carefully to MAMZ's speech to the Commonwealth Club, San Francisco, on June 2, 2006.) He says that he started training at the CIA to be a "secret agent" in 2001 and finished his training when the Howard Dean campaign took off, which was in 2003. Since secret agents are trained to offer cover stories, false backgrounds and provide false information, therefore, nothing that MAMZ, his supporters and associates say can be accepted at face value.

2). Markos C. A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA was born in Chicago, not in El Salvador. Therefore, he is a US citizen and is NOT and never was an immigrant, in spite of his habitual assertions to the contrary.

3). Markos C. A. Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) has used at least three aliases, including Mark Moulitsas , and Markos Moulitsas Zúñiga and Markos Moulitsas and Markos C. A. Moulitsas. No one seems to know MAMZ's complete name with certainty, but it certainly is not what he has said it is.

4). Markos C.A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA lied when he said "I don’t have money. I don’t come from a famous or powerful family. I was an immigrant to the United States." CatoUnbound.Org:Markos Moulitsas [ZÚÑIGA] Counter to the rags to riches immigrant story MAMZ has conveniently adopted recently for public consumption, MAMZ has said that he can and does "always close the door" on immigrant identity "in detached selfishness."

5). Markos C.A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA was a Ronald Reagan Republican, taking credit for supporting Ronald Reagan, campaigning for George. H.W. Bush, and for Republican Representative Henry Hyde, the House prosecutor in the Clinton impeachment hearings.

6). Markos C.A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ) is not a "liberal" and he is not a "progressive." In an essay submitted to the Northern Illinois University campus newspaper, the Northern Star, MAMZ strenuously opposed ALL service by gays in the US military, a position more extremely Republican and discriminatory than that taken by many other military members and conservatives. 7). Like David Duke and the Klu Klux Klan, Markos C.A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA promotes "states rights," a codeword for opposition to integration and determined acts and policies of segregation. Is DailyKos a White Supremacist Group?

8). Markos C.A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA has told the media, without naming her, that his mother "returned to El Salvador several years ago to run a hotel." San Francisco Gate

9). In fact, Mr. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA’s family owns a sumptuous and “exclusive” resort hotel and tourism conglomerate in El Salvador called the "Club Joya del Pacífico" (Club Jewel of the Pacific) a unit of which is the (Jaltepeque Suites Hotel).

10). Demonstrating his connection to these, what MAMZ has called "family business" interests, Markos C.A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA invited his wife, friends and family to celebrate his honeymoon with him at the this Jaltepeque Suites Hotel after he was married in the year 2000. (For some reason, the original link no longer works. Fortunately, we have two screenshots from his wedding album, including their web addresses, to prove that the album was public before its significance was pointed out. And now it's gone.)
11). Markos C.A. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA ZÚÑIGA's "family business" actually received five million dollars in foreign investments between 1997 and 2000, immediately before the period in which MAMZ states that he sought work at the CIA because he was "underemployed, unemployed." Carlos Alberto Delgado Zúñiga, the “family” member listed in government records as “manager” of the Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA’s hotel is also president of the “Junta Directiva” of the CÁMARA SALVADOREÑA DE TURISMO (CASATUR), the national tourism board of El Salvador, according to El Salvador's "La Prensa" newspaper. He has aggregated power in El Salvador through participation in a series of interlocking tourism-related directorates and has used this power to facilitate the destruction of the Jaltepeque Estuary by his hotel conglomerate, Club Jewel of the Pacific, even though the Jaltepeque Estuary is universally recognized by international groups as an endangered habitat for imperiled marine life. DE C.V. CNR.GOB.SV: Names and Credentials

15).Proturo, S.A. de C.V. is also known as the “Baja Salt Group,” which does business as “Baja Salt.”

16). Baja Salt distributes table salt and industrial salt in the United States, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand, Central and South America, and maintains offices in Odessa, Texas, where President George W. Bush was born. This Odessa, Texas office shares a telephone number, fax number and physical address with a peculiar equipment rental and petroleum industry business, Light Tower Rentals, Ltd, listed along with Halliburton Energy Services Group in the Texas organization records of USA Oilfield. "Now Public" Liberal Blog Bought by Billionaire Republican Party Donor

I posted the following article at the "Now Public" site in 2009, as soon as I learned that the blog had been purchased by a right-wing Republican. Many of us express surprise and outrage when we are shut down at these right-wing-owned sites, even though censoring our facts and opinions is the most natural thing for sites like DailyKos' and Now Public's right wing owners to do, given their right-wing political goals. Apparently, it is important to Republicans that they own and control the large blogs where we Leftists would like to express our opinions and share facts.

If Hitler didn't let the Jews publish at Third Reich's newspapers, then why would we expect people like Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) and Phillip Anschutz of Now Public to let us express our opinions at their blogs? Our political goals and interests are antithetical to theirs. Meanwhile, there are far more leftists at our collective Blogspot and Wordpress blogs than at those faux leftist and once-liberal rightosphere blogs.

We just need to keep doing what we're doing independently, while informing the public not to be confused about which blogs are truly leftist-owned-and-operated, and which are undercover right-wing propaganda organs.

Within a day or two after my publication of the following article at Now Public, my posting privileges were put "Under Review" and withdrawn, and have remained so since September, 2009. No surprise. I knew Phillip Anschutz was not going to let me publicly defrock him more than once at his own blog.

The problem is much larger than who owns the blogs. The problem is who owns the means of production and the aggregated wealth in a capitalist society.

The world's 89th wealthiest billionaire, according to Forbes, has been a consistent giver to Republican candidates and causes since at least 1999. The FEC Contributions to Political Committees report says that Phillip Anschutz of Denver, Colorado gave:

CIA-Connected DailyKos Blog Bans Critical Discussion of Israel, Says "Desert Peace" Blog

Over at the Desert Peace blog, there is an article reporting and criticizing the DailyKos crackdown on critical discussion of the US's relationship with Israel. It ought to be apparent by now, after DailyKos banning "conspiracy theories" and banning discussion of September 11, and banning critical discussion of Israel, that the purpose for the existence of DailyKos is to dissuade American Leftists from discussion reality, while convincing the press that a CIA trainee is a representative of the American Left.

This is very convenient for the American media, since they are loath to invite, for example, a socialist to discuss the benefits of socialism as opposed to capitalism on a talking heads television show. Instead, they invite a man who acknowledges having been trained by the CIA and HE tells the press what leftism means. They live off of Left/Right discussions, but they can't bring themselves to invite a real Leftist to speak on behalf of the Left.

The press never mentions in its biographical articles about MAMZ that he says he spent two years training with the CIA. However, I have noticed that there have been dramatically fewer biographical articles about MAMZ in the mainstream press since this obviously-relevant fact became public knowledge.

The media seems to believe that it is better not to write about MAMZ at all than to address any of the glaring and thoroughly-documented facts raised in "The Indictment of Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ) by Justice and History (Updated with Additional Information and Counts)."

So, I posted the following (common knowledge to readers of this blog) at the Desert Peace blog, with minor revisions:
Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ or "Kos" of DailyKos) admits that he trained with the US CIA for two years (transcript), between 2001 and 2003, while he started his "leftist" DailyKos blog in 2002, simultaneously with his CIA training. "Moulitsas Acknowledges that Many Consider Him a CIA Agent."

He has never categorically denied that he still works for the CIA, although he calls the belief that he does a "conspiracy theory." He HAS said that he would be more than willing to work for the CIA today, because "their hearts are in the right place." (See "Transcript" and listen to MAMZ's statements in the accompanying videos.)

I am proud that "Stu Piddy" ("Kos and the CIA") and the Truth About Kos blog, combined with hundreds of other blogs and over one hundred thousand hits at Google have compelled MAMZ to address the public's "conspiracy theory" that he is CIA, whether it be as an agent, operative or asset. MAMZ did finally admit publicly that the "conspiracy theory" about him exists widely, but he did not deny the validity of "conspiracy theory" directly, categorically or convincingly.

The question for leftists and for those who criticize the US relationship with Israel is not whether to participate at DailyKos, but rather what the Democratic Party and the American Left should do when we become convinced that a CIA agent is manipulating and disinforming the public by telling the public that he is a Democratic Party "leftist," "progressive," and "liberal" when, in fact, there are at least thirty-one good reasons involving him and his family for us to believe that he is a CIA agent and is trying to manipulate us.

Warren Weinstein, US AID Contractor in Pakistan (and CIA Representative?) Kidnapped There

Warren Weinstein has been kidnapped was a country director for the US Government's USAID agency at one time, and that he was in Pakistan doing similar work when he was kidnapped, on a contract from the US Government. But was he a CIA agent?

No one has proved so as of yet, but everyone is speculating based on information about his life and work, such as the details provided by a New York Times article (with salient details highlighted in yellow below):

The New York Times reports:

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — A group of armed men broke into the home of an American development expert in Lahore on Saturday and abducted him, Pakistani and American officials said.

American officials identified the man as Warren Weinstein, 70, the Pakistan director for J. E. Austin Associates, an international development consulting company based in Arlington, Va.

According to J. E. Austin’s Web site, Mr. Weinstein had been working on the company’s Pakistan initiative for strategic development and competitiveness.

A Pakistani friend of his said he was advising the provincial livestock department and the Industries Ministry, and was working on a development project financed by the American government in the tribal regions, a largely lawless area where militants operate along the border with Afghanistan.

“He was a very experienced man and said he had worked in many countries in difficult circumstances,” said the Pakistani acquaintance, who asked not to be identified. People who know him said he tried to assimilate into the local culture, wearing the Pakistani national dress, baggy trousers and a long tunic known as a shalwar kameez, and speaking functional Urdu.

Mr. Weinstein and his wife maintain a split-level home in a middle-class neighborhood in Rockville, Md., a suburb of Washington.

Britain's The Telegraph offers a cogent reason why Mr. Weinstein would be a target of kidnappers:

Mr Weinstein was working as the Pakistan country director of Virginia-based development company J.E. Austin Associates. He described his work as supervising a four-year $11 million “competitiveness project”, funded by the American government.

Although the New York Times and the Telegraph don't mention it with specificity Mr. Weinstein's history of involvement with the US Government makes him a plumb target: OpenSecrets.Org says that Weinstein was once an office director for the US Agency for International Development, a "country director" for the Peace Corps in the Ivory Coast and Togo.

In April, Antiwar.com reported:

Now, Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau has turned its eyes toward USAID, the official US government aid agency. There is concern, according to reports, that the various USAID “corruption” scandals surrounding inefficient projects are evidence that the agency is being used as cover for CIA activities.

It is possible that Mr. Weinstein became perceived to be an operative or agent of the US Central Intelligence Agency, and that is both part of why he was taken hostage and part of why the US Government is making such a big deal of getting him back?

Anyone who says that CIA activity in Pakistan is a mere "conspiracy theory" is trying to convince you not to use your eyes, your ears and your brain. Many conspiracy suspicions are also conspiracy facts.

(EFF) Two weeks ago, the Mexican newspaper El Milenio reported on a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Operations Coordination and Planning (OPC) initiative to monitor social media sites, blogs, and forums throughout the world. The document, obtained by El Milenio through a U.S. Freedom of Information Act request, discloses how OPC’s National Operations Center (NOC) plans to initiate systematic monitoring of publicly available online data including “information posted by individual account users” on social media.

The NOC monitors, collects and fuses information from a variety of sources to provide a “real-time snap shot of the [U.S.] nation’s threat environment at any moment.” The NOC also coordinates information sharing to “help deter, detect, and prevent terrorist acts and to manage [U.S.] domestic incidents.” The NOC has initiated systemic monitoring of publicly available, user-generated data to follow real-time developments in U.S. crisis activities such as natural disasters as well as to help corroborate data received through official sources with ‘on-the-ground’ input.

Although I skimmed the document for 30 seconds, assuming that it is truly from the DOHC, it seems clear that sites like Facebook, Brazil's Orkut, LinkedIn.Com and Googles new social networking site will be constantly monitored. Don't say anything online that constitutes the admission of a crime or the admission of an attempted crime. It could easily be used against you in a court of law.

Meanwhile,

The Atlantic is up in arms over a bill before Congress, titled the Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011, that would require Internet service providers to capture credit card data, bank statements, IP information and search history from every user and keep it on hand for 18 months.

So, even if you use an anonymous screen name, the Government intends to monitor your every transaction and correspondence. They are probably doing so now, except that the above cited bill would require Internet providers to hand over virtually all that is public and private about individuals to the Federal Government. As FederalJack.Com says, "Conspiracy is no longer a theory," but instead is a fact, and now a fact in the form of a bill in the US Congress. As Stevie Wonder once sang, "Kiss Lonely Goodby" because no matter what you are doing at your computer, your data is being recorded.

It does seem odd but I think it might just be that he was trying to gloss over the timeline quickly.

Because I tend to see and focus on the bad rather than the good in what people say about my efforts, I responded to Tony Schinella as follows at Tikun Olam:

I'm glad you've moved on, because most of what Moulitsas says doesn't merit our time or attention. However, your expressed credulity for Moulitsas' responses to the questions about his CIA involvement leads me to doubt your sanity and/or sincerity. I'm sorry to say that in such an unpleasant way, but it's what I think.

MAMZ has outright lied about the economic resources he had available when he started DailyKos. His family is among the upper crust of the Salvadoran oligarchy, with international influence and paid rolls in globalization. He has not commented on the fact that a family member received a one million dollar loan guarantee from the Overseas Private Investment Council (OPIC) for globalization work , according to an OPIC press release.

It's possible that MAMZ is not a CIA agent, but the fact that he looks like one, even without his confession at the Commonwealth Club, troubles me. This is about the infiltration and manipulation of the American Left and the media's refusal to cover real American leftists. MAMZ is important politically and negatively because he claims to the media and to politicians that he represents the American Left, which drowns out and distorts the voices of real leftists.

And you're telling me that we should ignore his admission to CIA contacts because he can't remember when he entered the CIA orbit and when he left? If he doesn't remember when he left, maybe it's because he never left the CIA at all, or never stopped being a CIA asset.

I believe that his Netroots Nation conferences and secret Townhouse Group (and undoubtedly many other secret engagements) are for the purpose of developing CIA assets and then misdirecting them. I was recently contacted by one of those assets, whose interaction with him is public knowledge, and this contact asked me to join a secret group that would make secret political decisions.

I will not join any group until at least those within the group who are suspected of CIA connections have conclusively disproved their connections with the CIA. MAMZ cannot disprove his connections because he has already confessed to them. I will not be a CIA asset through MAMZ or a MAMZ asset, and Truth About Kos warns and discourages others from playing that role.

I was also contacted by Hillary Clinton's 2008 campaign's e-mail guru (can't remember his name right now), who told me, "We want you to work to elect Hillary Clinton . . . . You know that Markos and I are friends, right?)

What was he trying to tell me that he didn't come out and say? That if I wanted to be in the Clinton inner blogging circle then I would have to stop writing critically about MAMZ? Was this a back-channel communication from MAMZ himself?

The reason you can't get anyone to listen to your criticisms of Israel is that there is a massive program of misinformation and obliviousness going on in the United States to convince Americans to accept the relationship with Isreal and forget about the Palestinians. As you have come to realize, MAMZ participates, to the extent of his blog's abilities, in that massive effort to forget about Israel's cruel hegemony over the Palestinians and the Lebanese as well. MAMZ little part is the attempt to shut down discussions of Israel (and also shut down doubt of the incredible explanations of 9-11).

I have been contacted by various people who tell me in a friendly way that I might as well stop criticizing MAMZ. One woman claimed to be MAMZ's neighbor in California and said she didn't care about him politically, but he was a nasty neighbor. I told her that if she was MAMZ's neighbor then I wanted her to take his garbage from the curb, put it into a box, and mail it to me, so that I could review its contents. I never received any of MAMZ's garbage, so I guess that contact's story was garbage.

The fact that MAMZ was compelled to acknowledge that a lot of people believe he is involved with the CIA is proof positive that the work of the Truth About Kos blog has had the desired effect: to discredit him in the eyes of the public. The media continues to cover him because they know that a lot of the people they cover are CIA agents, and it is an accepted rule that the media should not consider CIA contacts (or should favor them) when deciding whether to cover a media event or not.

MAMZ's 2% Black and 0% Latino participation at his blog is also an attempt to marginalize Blacks and Latinos as part of the American left. Black bloggers thought this didn't matter until they found out that no Black or Latino bloggers would be allowed on the floor of the Democratic National Convention, because that privilege was held by MAMZ's "state bloggers." MAMZ was effectuating a plan to lock Blacks and Black bloggers out of contact and exposure, using the infrastructure of the Democratic Party. When MAMZ's actions result in an all-white Democratic Party media floor blogging pool, the MAMZ has become to malignant to ignore.

If he can convince the media that Black Kos represents Blacks, then why would or would the media need to contact us Black bloggers. Thankfully, Black Kos is such a transparent ruse that even the media won't cover them. They don't do anything or represent anyone worth covering.

Most of the time I spend on The Truth About Kos is when I daily review the hits in order to see where Truth About Kos has been cited and quoted and used by others to prove that MAMZ is a liar whose views and concocted appearance of leftist leadership are fallacious.

When people use the Truth About Kos to discredit Kos, simply by placing a link in the comments at another blog, I know that this part of my efforts has been well done, even if I don't do anything more.

It is a pleasure, though, that MAMZ acknowledges that he is widely suspected of being CIA. That suspicion started with Stu-Piddy and me and it limits the harm that MAMZ can cause to the American left and American politics in general.

This I can tell you with certainty. MAMZ will never run for public office (although he once suggested that he wanted to) because his opponent would access the Truth about Kos blog and use reams of evidence to show that there is something very incredible about MAMZ and he can't be trusted. I feel I'm doing the public a significant service, even if I never update Truth About Kos again.

This blog would have reported this acknowledgment earlier, but I simply don't have the patience to read and write about MAMZ's day-to-day "chatter"-making statements.

[I would have reported this acknowledgement earlier, but I simply don't have the patience to read and write about MAMZ's day-to-day attention "chatter"-making statements.]

Today, MAMZ says his involvement with the CIA is a "crazy CIA conspiracy theory." If so, it's a "crazy" theory based on MAMZ's own "crazy" statement of June 2, 2006 at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco.

Here is what MAMZ said to get the "crazy conspiracy theory" going:

QUESTION: Not long ago, liberals loathed the Central Intelligence Agency as the enemy of democratic governments and they installed dictators around the world, and these days you read the papers and people on the Left are rallying to the defense of the CIA and are indignant when the CIA is politicized. How did this come about, that suddenly liberals are championing the CIA:
MAMZ's ANSWER: I don’t know. You know I.

QUESTION: Do you find it stranger or ironic, this sudden love for the CIA?

MAMZ's ANSWER:: You know . . . coughs . . . I think a lot of the people that did have problems with the CIA, I mean it was a very vocal minority.

MAMZ's ANSWER: You know . . . coughs . . . I think a lot of the people that did have problems with the CIA, I mean it was a very vocal minority. I think most people really didn’t think about it all that much. Right? It wasn’t really on their radar screens, ah, in the way that now it is, because now we are in this huge war, and it was the CIA that was warning the Administration against invading because, there were no weapons of mass destruction.

Here’s a little secret I don’t think I’ve ever written about: But in 2001, I was unemployed, underemployed, unemployed. You know I was in that . . You all have been there “dot com” people? Kinda like, in between jobs, doin’ a little contract work and . . . kinda. So, you know. That’s where I was: in this really horrible netherworld of ‘will I make rent next month’ and . . .

So, I applied to the CIA and I went all the way to the end, I mean it was to the point where I was going to sign papers to become Clandestine Services. And it was at that point that the Howard Dean campaign took off and I had to make a decision whether I was gonna kinda join the Howard Dean campaign, that whole process, or was I was going to become a spy. (Laughter in the audience.) It was going to be a tough decision at first, but then the CIA insisted that if, if I joined that, they’d want me to do the first duty assignment in Washington, DC, and I hate Washington, DC. Six years in Washington, DC [inaudible] that makes the decision a lot easier.

[ . . .] This is a very liberal institution. And in a lot of ways, it really does attract people who want to make a better, you know, want to make the world a better place . . . Of course, they’ve got their Dirty Ops and this and that, right but as an institution itself the CIA is really interested in stable world. That’s what they’re interested in. And stable worlds aren’t created by destabilizing regimes and creating wars.

Their done so by other means. Assassination labor leaders . . . I’m kidding!

[ . . . ] I don’t think it’s a very partisan thing to want a stable world. And even if you’re protecting American interests, I mean that can get ugly at times, but generally speaking I think their hearts in the right place. As an organization their heart is in the right place. I’ve never had any problem with the CIA. I’d have no problem working for them . Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA at the Commonwealth Club.

After MAMZ stated publicly that he trained for two years to be a CIA agent, I cannot see anything "crazy" about demanding to know his level of involvement with that agency now. What is "crazy" about wondering how he uses his CIA training and contacts in the context of his present activities? What is "crazy" about wondering if he maintains these contacts now, exchanging privileged information from the left with handlers at the CIA?

In the audiotape recorded at the Commonwealth Club on June 2, 2006 and transcribed above, MAMZ states that in 2001 he began training to be a "secret agent" for the US Central Intelligence Agency and that "when the Dean campaign took off" (which happened at the very end of 2003) MAMZ chose to work with that campaign rather than to be a CIA agent, potentially infiltrating that campaign and the blogospere in general.

In a very real sense, he acknowledges that he infiltrated the Left by training at the CIA while participating among people with real and true leftist beliefs and commitments. And he was duplicitous and traitorous when he waited four or five years to tell his readers, associates and the public about his CIA affiliation.

Does MAMZ believe that his two years at the CIA are irrelevant to his resume? This doesn't appear in any of his own biographies and curriculum vitae. Did he just think that it would be easier to announce his CIA involvement later, off-offhandedly, rather than post a serious article about it at his blog in 2002, when his blatant conflict of interest commenced?

There is one point on which I agree with MAMZ.

Your relevance is directly proportional to the amount of chatter you generate about yourself.

However, I would substitute the phrase "ignominious infamy" where MAMZ says "relevance." Unfortunately, it's easier to generate chatter by doing something unspeakably horrible (like infiltrating the Left for the CIA while pretending to be a leftist) than to become notorious while doing something good, during an entire lifetime.

It's easier to generate an "amount of chatter" by shooting thirty fellow students at a university than it is to become famous while teaching thirty kids to read. It is unquestionably faster and easier to become famous and therefore "relevant" by doing evil than by doing good. The "chatter" about Adolph Hitler and Benedict Arnold may never completely subside.

Outstanding acts of evil are more newsworthy than positive commitment to others because most people do not practice outstanding evil while trying to attract "chatter." It's easier to pull the trigger on a semi-automatic rifle for a minute and kill people than it is to research cancer cures for a decade. So, if MAMZ chose the route of quick chatter through evil (announcing his involvement with the CIA) rather than quietly doing good, then maybe that's comprehensible from someone who believes as he does that "chatter' is indispensable.

So, what better way could there have been for MAMZ to generate chatter than to assert, as MAMZ did on June 2, 2006 at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, that MAMZ had trained for two years (2001-2003) to become a CIA agent, while starting DailyKos (2002). A CIA agent-in-training starting a "leftist" blog simultaneously is inherently newsworthy, to say the least. Maybe MAMZ just announced this truth in 2006 because he wanted the "chatter" that would result.
But, did he want chatter so much that he would lie about a nonexistent connection with the CIA?

If MAMZ would lie about training for two years with the CIA, is there anything that he would NOT lie about? And if he told the truth in 2006, then there is no excuse for him to dismiss that truth as a "crazy conspiracy theory" in 2011. This instance show just how quick MAMZ is to call something a crazy conspiracy theory when there is substantial or even overwhelming evidence to support the theory

A Case Study of Censorship at DailyKos (w/Screen-Shots)

DailyKos "trusted users" are censoring articles posted there by making them invisible to the public. Here is an example: The first Site Meter screen-shot below shows that on May 18, 2011, approximately sixty DailyKos readers clicked on a link posted at DailyKos, with the intention of viewing a link to this Truth About Kos blog, whose identifier code at Site Meter is "s36hypocrite." (That is the username I chose when creating the "Truth About Kos (DailyKos)" blog's site meter back in 2007.)

The second Site Meter screen-shot (below) shows that DailyKos readers were following a link directly to an article that I researched and published here, entitled: "The Indictment of Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ) by Justice and History (Updated with Additional Information and Counts)"

The third Site Meter screen-hot below demonstrates that at the DailyKos blog URL address where the blog post should have been available, there was instead a statement that: "You do not have permission to view this diary." At least sixty readers at DailyKos had read the diary, but the general public and reporters would not and will not be able to read the diary.

As the fourth Site Meter screen-shot shows, that hidden article was entitled, "I'm from Red State and I'm Here to Educate."

As screen-shot #2 below demonstrates, the now-hidden Red State blog post that cited Truth About Kos had a link that went directly to "The Indictment of Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ) by Justice and History (Updated with Additional Information and Counts)" is not gone. It simply is no longer available to the public. The clear implication is that there is something within the thirty-one-count "Indictment" that trusted users don't want the public or DailyKos readers to see. With over 200 links to US Government, Salvadoran Government, MAMZ family websites, Salvadoran newspaper articles and even a press release by US Government's OPIC, I can certainly understand why trusted users would consider The Indictment to be a threat to DailyKos' and MAMZ's reputation.

If you don't want to know the truth about Kos, and you don't want others to learn the truth about Kos, then don't read The Indictment and don't link to it. (Over sixty blogs have linked to Truth About Kos.)

People who understand the rules and invisible inner-workings of DailyKos could probably explain to us quite easily what this evidence means. I cannot fully explain, but I can say what I do know. "Red State" is a Republican conservative blog, so anyone who posted an article at the ostensibly "leftist" DailyKos using the name "Red State" in the title would immediately be suspect.

DailyKos has "trusted users" whose foremost job is eliminate from the blog posts and comments any information that seriously threatens the authorized view of Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) and of DailyKos, e.g. a blog post or comment that links to this Truth About Kos blog. They can eliminate any information from public view if it contradicts an aspect of the blog's reputation.

Reportedly, the way that they do so is by having a threshold number of "trusted users" who must object to a post or comment in order to make that comment or post invisible to the public. Once that threshold is reached, the comment or blog post becomes invisible to the public, and visible only to "trusted users"

DailyKos "trusted readers" treat people differently according to whether they observe the rules (public and unstated). Anyone who quotes or links to the Truth About Kos blog has effectively declared war on DailyKos and on Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga. Once it becomes clear that the information posted is inimical to the view of DailyKos that the "trusted users" carefully maintain, the user's ability to post will be diminished or eliminated.

What information is in the indictment that is inimical to the DailyKos? The fact that MAMZ admittedly spent three years training at the CIA is probably among the facts that the "trusted users" want to keep secret. Not surprisingly, the Commonwealth Club has finally removed from its archives the audiotape in which MAMZ acknowledges that he spent three years with the CIA, including 2002--the year in which he started DailyKos.
Fortunately, I suspected this might happen and so I prepared a Transcript of MAMZ's Confession to 2 to 3 YRS at CIA. This audio tape has been excerpted and written about all over the leftist and psuedo-leftist blogosphere and MAMZ has never denied its authenticity. For example, a user at YouTube named truthout1020 made a video including audio of MAMZ's own voice, confessing to having been trained by the CIA from 2001 until 2003. MAMZ did not challenge the fact that the voice on the tape is his and has not denied making any of the statements he made. However, the links to the audio-no longer work, and a search for "Moulitsas" among Commonwealth Club's archives show no

Almost nine thousand people have viewed and listened to the video and still MAMZ has never denied its authenticity. I would imagine that TruthOut1020 probably has the entire interview on his hard drive, because he used it extensively in making the above video.

Although MAMZ has acknowledged verbally, on audio-tape, that he spent 2001 until 2003 training at the CIA, this is not in his biography at DailyKos. His military service is. The fact that he has not acknowledged training at the CIA while starting DailyKos is not in his Wikipedia entry either. I have put it there more than once, but someone keeps taking it out, as if three years at the CIA are not relevant and worthy of mention. Or as if a Wikipedia page is not information for the public but rather propaganda for those names lead in biographies there. (The mainstream media doesn't out CIA agents and this may help to explain why they haven't discussed the CIA backstory even though MAMZ has brought it up in public.)

The truth is that being CIA-trained contradicts his attempts to present himself as a "leftist" and "progressive" and so those whose job it is to prune his image have intentionally withheld critical background information from the public. It is as if his entire public posture is just his CIA cover story, while the thoroughly documented information at the Truth About Kos is the reality from which he wants to run and hide.

Just remember this: MAMZ did not inform the public that in 1993 MAMZ vehemently opposed ALL gay service in the US Armed Forces, and he ridiculed then-President Clinton for trying to open the military to gay service.

You didn't discover that information in his bio at DailyKos, or in his Wikipedia entry or in any of the biographical pieces that have been written about him by the mainstream media.

The homophobic college essay was research, discovered and published at The Truth About Kos, because we research and expose Kos, even when his "trusted users" and the mainstream media refuse to do so refuse to publish this information.

Holland, reported on a 1993 college essay in which Moulitsas Zúniga (then a freshman) opined that gays should not be permitted to serve in the military under any circumstances. "Permission" to view a diary?

Over at DailyKos, an article was posted with the name "Red State Here to Educate." The article almost certainly linked to the Truth About Kos blog, because close to sixty DailyKos leaders followed the link to the Truth About Kos blog. Now, for some reason, I find that I cannot read the article. Instead, I get the page above, saying."You do not have permission to view this diary."

Why would I need "permission" to view a diary at a large national blog pseudo-Democratic Party blog that does not charge fees for reading articles? Is it because there is rampant censorship, practiced by "trusted users" at DailyKos, and articles that do not support the underlying premise of DailyKos are taken down by the censors?

Or is it because no one with my IP address is allowed to visit DailyKos, lest I show the relationship between the articles posted there and the fact that MAMZ was admittedly (on audiotape) training with the Central Intelligence Agency in 2002, during the entire year when he started DailyKos?

I just don't know why an article posted by someone from RedState has been hidden from me, and perhaps from thousands of others, by DailyKos censors.

My bet is that it is invisible simply because it links to a list of 31 essential and reprehensible facts about DailyKos, its owner and his family, which facts are posted here at Truth About Kos. These thirty-one facts, when taken together, show that MAMZ is a brazen liar, undercover in the United States as a "leftist-blog" operator, rags to riches story, when in fact his family is ENORMOUSLY wealthy in El Salvador. At DailyKos it is verbotten to link to Truth About Kos, and people who do so anyway quickly find that their posting privileges has been withdrawn. If readers don't believe me, they need not take my word for it. In an article or diary that you post at DailyKos, just use the blog name "Truth About Kos" and link to this blog. You will immediately be warned by someone, perhaps subtly but without question, that you have broken and unwritten rule by linking to Truth About Kos. If you continue, the warnings will become more explicit and then your blog post and comment privileges will be withdrawn. This can all happen within one day if your repeatedly link to this blog.

How did Markos achieve this stunning metamorphosis in just a few short years? Actually, nobody knows and Markos isn't telling. He has told interviewers, improbably, that he last voted for the Republicans in 1992, because he suddenly realized that they didn't support states rights as strongly as he would have liked. (See articles above.)

He said,

"We can fondly look back to a time [during the 1980's Reagan Administration] when Republicans spoke a good game on libertarian issues . . .[including] fealty to state rights . . ." The Case for the Libertarian Democrat (by Markos Moulitsas)

States rights' is the right-wing proposition that the Federal Government lacks the Constitutional authority to oblige the states to integrate schools, oblige restaurants to serve Black patrons and mandate equal rights for the disabled. States rights was the clarion call of southern segregationists against integration of schools and restaurants.

Considering that, for Markos, part of the Republicans "speaking a good game" on libertarian issues consisted, in Markos' words, of "fealty to states rights", clearly Markos is saying that he stopped supporting the Republicans because they stopped supporting states' rights. (Emphasis added.)

But, Markos' rejection of the Republicans today doesn't make sense, because Republicans' dedication to states' rights has not deminished. One would have thought that George H.W. Bush's appointment of Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court would have satisfied Markos thirst for states rights jurisprudence on the US Supreme Court. With Clarence Thomas appointed to the US Supreme Court to uphold states' rights, it hardly seems logical that Markos would have abandoned the Republicans who had done so much to revive states rights in the post Civil Rights era, particularly with the appoint of Clarence Thomas, the foremost advocate of states rights.

"Black Kos" a Transparent Demographic Sham

It's April 20th and Michelle Obama's Government plane nearly crashed today, while a chief within the Republican Party has circulated an e-mail depicting the President Obama as one among three monkeys.

At least that's what the Brazilian press is saying and showing. However, "Black Kos" has not reported on either of these incidents.

On April 19th, two days ago, we have a "Commentary by Black Kos Editor Deoliver 47," about the youth vote.
On April 15, four days earlier, there was a bit of poetry by "Black Kos Poetry Editor Justice Putnam."
On April 12, 3 days earlier than the last post, appeared "Commentary by Black Kos Editor
Deoliver47."
On April 8, four days earlier than the last post, there was a reflection by "Black Kos Editor, Sephius1."
On April 5, three days earlier than the last post, there was a "Commentary by Deoliver47."
On April 1, four days earlier than the last post, there was a commentary by dopper0189, Black Kos Managing Editor.

What can we gather from the above? All of the articles written for Black Kos in so far in this April were written by four (4) editors of "Black Kos". What are they "editing" besides their own writings?

All of the articles they wrote in the first twenty-one days of April were written by:

"Deoliver 47"
"Black Kos Poetry Editor Justice Putnam,"
"Sephius1" or
"dopper0189".

So few are Blacks at DailyKos that these editors could have a board meeting in a telephone booth. There is no evidence of continuity of political themes or collaborative political efforts, unless the "editors' " political goal is to establish that Black people can participate in a poetry club.

Black Kos is a silent backwater in the DailyKos whitosphere blog as the following observation proves numerically:

Editor Deoliver 47 has not written a high-impact diary according to the archives of DailyKos, from January 2010 until the present..
Editor Justice Putman has never written a high impact diary during that period either, according to an archives search.
Editor Sephius 1 has not written a high impact diary at least since January 2010.
And Dopper0189 has not written a high-impact diary in that period either.

An "editor" should teach writers to publish stories that are influential. Yet, these four editors themselves have demonstrated that their own writings have no influence at DailyKos. This leads me to believe that, however meritorious the writing of the four editors above may be, they are being ignored at DailyKos, and they apparently don't even care.

The transparent sham appearance of an attempt to create a Black community around these editors is simply a reflection of a much deeper problem: the redlining of DailyKos and the whitosphere. DailyKos whites treat "Black Kos" as if it were a dangerous Black ghetto that DK whites avoid like a car-jacking. The neutered speech of four (?) 'Black Kos" editors is the price for them speaking at all at DailyKos. These are Black Americans who have learned not to upset the pseudo-progressive CIA-influenced DailyKos branch of the American whitosphere.

This is why Quantcast.com site metrix shows that DailyKos has only 3% Black visits to their site, while Black delegates to the Democratic National Convention typically are 20% of delegates and some states have more Black Democratic voters than white ones.

Moreover the site visits at DailyKos are 1% Hispanic, perhaps precisely because its owner, Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga's runs like his hair is on fire from his Latino, Salvadoran roots, as he did in the following letter to the editor at Northern Illinois State University's "Northern Star" student newspaper. He insists that he is simply a white man.

"Sure, I could always talk against racism, fight ignorance and prejudice wherever I ran into it, yet I would always be looking in from another room and I could always close the door. My life, in my world, in my own detached selfishness. And as I left the ugly reality of racism behind, it struck me that what was such an easy and trivial exercise for me would be impossible for anyone whose skin color or religious persuassion (sic) made them the target of bigotry and discrimination. MAMZ looks white in terms of his skin color. The quote above explains why Latinos in the United States utterly ignore DailyKos even though it's owner is half-Latino. MAMZ thinks like an anti-Black and anti-Latino color-aroused antagonist, and these demographic groups feel it.

You'll have to search for the link and the rest of the above article at MAMZ's alma mater, the Northern Illinois University, within their Northern Star newspaper archives, using the search term "Moulitsas." For some reason, the URL addresses of MAMZ's articles from his college career have changed four or five times since 2007, when I began researching and publishing these extremely embarrassing and rabidly homophobic 100% Republican articles.

Back to the point: "Black Kos" is a transparent shame that exists precisely because there are virtually no Blacks participating at DailyKos, and so the few there are must be aggregated and highlighted to avoid the appearance that DailyKos is a white supremacist organization.

The concept of a ghetto created especially for the Black demographic at DailyKos arose because there was an embarrassing lack of Blacks' content, and Blacks with high-impact there are feared and banished. I know because my diaries at DailyKos were consistently high-impact diaries and yet I was banned from the site. I was banned because I expressed the opinions of a Black man (e.g. that a non-white male president of the United States should and would be elected in 2008).

This anti-Black antagonism expressed in response to this view explains why there are only 3% Blacks at DailyKos, and proves that "Black Kos" exists only as part of a public relations sham attempt to imply that there are substantially more Black at DailyKos than there actually are. This is why the Washington Post said for YearlyKos said, "Bloggers' Convention a Sea of Middle-Aged White Males".

Arrested US Official is Actually CIA Contractor

WASHINGTON – An American jailed in Pakistan for the fatal shooting of two armed men was secretly working for the CIA and scouting a neighborhood when he was arrested, a disclosure likely to further frustrate U.S. government efforts to free the man and strain relations between two countries partnered in a fragile alliance in the war on terror.

Raymond Allen Davis, 36, had been working as a CIA security contractor and living in a Lahore safe house, according to former and current U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to talk publicly about the incident.

Davis, a former Special Forces soldier who left the military in 2003, shot the men in what he described as an attempted armed robbery in the eastern city of Lahore as they approached him on a motorcycle. A third Pakistani, a bystander, died when a car rushing to help Davis struck him. Davis was carrying a Glock handgun, a pocket telescope and papers with different identifications.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration insisted anew Monday that Davis had diplomatic immunity and must be set free. In a hastily arranged conference call with reporters shortly after details of Davis' employment were reported, senior State Department officials repeated the administration's stance that he is an accredited member of the technical and administrative staff of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad. They said the Pakistani government had been informed of his status in January 2010 and that Pakistan is violating its international obligations by continuing to hold him.

The officials would not comment on Davis' employment but said it was irrelevant to the case because Pakistan had not rejected his status The officials spoke only on grounds of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.

The revelation that Davis was an employee of the CIA comes amid a tumultuous dispute over whether he is immune from criminal prosecution under international rules enacted to protect diplomats overseas. New protests in Pakistan erupted after The Guardian newspaper in London decided to publish details about Davis' relationship with the CIA.

The U.S. had repeatedly asserted that Davis had diplomatic immunity and should have been released immediately. The State Department claimed Davis was "entitled to full criminal immunity in accordance with the Vienna Convention" and was a member of the "technical and administrative staff" at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.

The Associated Press learned about Davis working for the CIA last month, immediately after the shootings, but withheld publication of the information because it could endanger his life while he was jailed overseas, with at least some protesters there calling for his execution as a spy.

The AP had intended to report Davis' CIA employment after he was out of harm's way, but the story was broken Sunday by The Guardian. The CIA asked The AP and several other U.S. media outlets to hold their stories as the U.S. tried to improve Davis' security situation.

A U.S. official says Davis is being held at a jail on the outskirts of Lahore where there are serious doubts about whether the Pakistanis can truly protect him. The official says the Pakistanis have expressed similar concerns to the U.S.

A senior Pakistani intelligence official said the government had taken measures to ensure the safety of Davis, stepping up security at the facility, removing certain inmates from the prison and sending a contingent of well-trained paramilitaries known as the Rangers.

The State Department said the Pakistani government was informed that Davis was a diplomat and entitled to immunity when he was assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.

"We are very mindful of the difficulty that the government of Pakistan faces with public opinion in this case," department spokesman P.J. Crowley said. "We remain concerned about him and our message to Pakistan remains that he should be released as soon as possible."

Davis identified himself as a diplomat to police when he was arrested and "has repeatedly requested immunity" to no avail, Crowley said. The U.S. Embassy said he has a diplomatic passport and a visa valid through June 2012. It also said in a recent statement the U.S. had notified the Pakistani government of Davis' assignment more than a year ago. However, the senior Pakistani intelligence official says that Davis' visa application contained bogus U.S. contact information.

Since Pakistani authorities took the ex-Special Forces soldier into custody Jan. 27, U.S. officials said, the situation has slowly escalated into a crisis, threatening the CIA's ability to wage a dangerous war against al-Qaida and militants. Some members of Congress have threatened to cut off the billions in funding to Pakistan if Davis isn't released.

Davis was attached to the CIA's Global Response Staff, which provides security overseas to agency bases and stations, former and current U.S. officials told the AP. In that role, he was assigned to protect CIA personnel. One of their duties includes protecting case officers when they meet with sources. On the day he was captured, he was familiarizing himself with the area.

"Davis is a protective officer, someone who provides security to U.S. officials in Pakistan," the U.S official said. "Rumors to the contrary are simply wrong."

In a YouTube video of local police interrogating him, Davis says he's a consultant and he's with the "RAO," a reference to the American Regional Affairs Office. Davis also said at one point he was attached to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.

Working for the agency's GRS comes with risks — sometimes fatal ones. The head of security at the CIA's base in Khost, Afghanistan, was killed with six others in December 2009 after a suicide bomber detonated a powerful explosive under his belt.

The CIA has a major presence in Pakistan, where it runs the drone program in Islamabad and offensive operations against militants, al-Qaida and Pakistan's spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence.
Former and current U.S. officials say the Pakistanis might have been stalling to release Davis so he could be extensively questioned, hoping he could provide more information about CIA activities in the troubled country or possibly even identify other agency officers.

The senior Pakistani intelligence official told the AP the two men in the response vehicle that went to aid Davis, killing the bystander, have left the country. The official said the Pakistani government's decision to let them leave was a concession to the U.S.

The U.S.-Pakistani partnership had begun to fray in recent months. In late 2010, a pair of civil lawsuits filed in the U.S. accused Pakistan's spy chief of nurturing terrorists involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Shortly after the lawsuits were filed, the name of the CIA's top spy in Pakistan was publicly disclosed and his life threatened. He was eventually pulled out of the country in December, a month before the scheduled end of his tour.

A former CIA officer said militants have also threatened the children of ISI officers. And the CIA in recent years has become increasingly concerned about the safety of its officers in outlying areas like Lahore and Peshawar, a former senior U.S. intelligence source said. But the danger was more pronounced in Lahore, where the CIA learned there might be government elements willing to harm agency officers.
Former CIA officials said the agency officers could have been killed in 2009 when terrorists attacked an ISI compound in Lahore. CIA officers regularly met their counterparts at the compound but didn't have a meeting scheduled the day of the attack.

Further inflaming tensions, the wife of one of the men Davis shot committed suicide. She had said she feared her husband's killer would be freed without trial.

Military records show Davis, a Virginia native, served a decade in the Army, including five years with the 3rd Special Forces Group in Fort Bragg, N.C., home to the Green Berets.

Davis also worked for security contractor Blackwater Worldwide, now known as Xe Services.
Davis and his wife run a Las Vegas-registered company called Hyperion Protective Services. The address for its headquarters is a mailbox at a UPS store in a strip mall. The truth about Davis' true employer briefly slipped out after a local television reporter in Colorado called his wife.

In a story posted on the website of Denver's 9News, the wife provided the name and number of a "CIA spokesperson" in Washington, D.C. But the story was quickly taken down, edited and then reposted with new language eliminating any reference to the CIA.

The incident in Pakistan also raises serious questions about how an armed CIA employee could become involved in a fatal shooting with street bandits and allow himself to be captured. Former CIA officers say they were taught to make their way back to the safety of the embassy or consulate in potentially dangerous situations, but the circumstances could have made that impossible in Davis' case.
Former CIA officials say this is not the first time an agency employee was detained in a foreign country. In the 1980s, a CIA officer with diplomatic immunity was abducted in Ethiopia after he was suspected of spying. The case was quietly resolved and the officer was eventually released.

Newspaper Story Explains Mainstream Press Unwillingness to Tackle Moulitsas CIA Connections

Today, a story published at Yahoo News about a CIA agent whose activities where discovered and outed by a Great Britain newspaper confirms a suspicion that I have held for at least four years: Just as the United States mainstream media does not report that a member of the US Congress is gay or cheating until the issue is forced into the open, likewise the US mainstream media simply does not report on its knowledge of who-- here and overseas-- is a CIA agent.

Likewise, identifying CIA-sponsored activities is also a verboten topic in the mainstream media, even when those topics receive a great deal of press. The New York Times made an exception recently, reporting that President Obama had requested last September a list of countries that might be susceptible to uprisings. The article reported CIA involvement in preparing the report. (I am looking for a link to that story.) Yet, the Yahoo story of today proves that the US press doesn't identify or discuss CIA agents, except "on background" and without reporting their identities because doing so would disrupt CIA activities, and endanger agents and assets, within the United States.

And so it is in the case of Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúniga (MAMZ). On June 2, 1996, MAMZ announced in a speech to the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco that, when MAMZ founded DailyKos in 2002, MAMZ had been in training with the CIA to be a Clandestine Services agent.

With 45,000 hits at Google for Moulitsas CIA speech Commonwealth, the apparent disinterest in this story by the mainstream press is a matter that has confounded me over the last four years. In fact, the mainstream press, I have learned, has simply written less biographical pieces on MAMZ rather than include his CIA involvement in stories about him.

This case clearly shows that the mainstream newspapers and media in the United States withhold information about CIA activities if the CIA asks them to do so, and also because there is a tacit agreement that clandestine CIA activities are not to be reported in the news, because of "harm to the troops" and "risk to foreign sources" and a plethora of others excuses not to inform the public.

Obviously, it's impossible for the public to truly understand foreign news stories when the clandestine activities of the most powerful nation on earth are hidden and not revealed.

And so, MAMZ can cavort around media talk shows, insisting that he is a "liberal" "leftist", without ever being confronted with the proof that he is CIA-involved, which casts doubt on everything he does in the name of leftist activism. By telling only the CIA-approved version of MAMZ's biography, the press actually helps the CIA to mislead the US public.

Still, the public can gather and publish MAMZ's CIA contacts at blogs such as this one, and any member of the public who really wants to understand MAMZ can just Google his name along with CIA. The information is there. It's explosive in the blogosphere, but still carefully ignored, at least since June 2, 2006, by the mainstream media.

Markos Moulitsas 1993 Letter to Editor Opposing ALL Gay Military Service is Missing, Again

Many of us have read the 1993 letter that Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga posted in his college newspaper, opposing ALL gay service in the military. We have also noticed that the URL for the article has changed five times or more since it was first reprinted here at Truth About Kos. These changes in the URL make it more difficult for members of the public to read what MAMZ said when he was a college newspaper writer. These changed URL's breaks our links to the article and lead to an "Unsupported Media" notice at the Northern University's Northern Star student newspaper.

Ironically, the article in which a woman student and former servicewoman challenges MAMZs "bad attitude" can still be found at the same URL as before.

Is someone at the Northern Start student newspaper, or even someone substantially more powerful, constantly changing the address of MAMZ's anti-gay article so that the public will not be able to read it? If so, it remains available in a screenshot at Truth About Kos, as well as in dozens of other blogs that couldn't help but highlight the duplicity of MAMZ's homophobia versus his facile and relatively new endeavor to seem "progressive". Compare his 1993 letter to the editor with what has come after it, and see which reflects the REAL MAMZ, if any of his writings really do.

Go to the newspaper's archives and search for Moulitsas and you may still be able to read his embarrassing articles, including the on in which MAMZ Denies Being Latino in Spite of "ZÚÑIGA" Maternal Surname.

A blog called "Links to MAMZ's College Newspaper Articles" once had functioning links to all of MAMZ college articles, but now includes only the names, summaries and broken links, because, for some reason, the URL's of these articles change over and over again. Is it possible that someone is assisting MAMZ in making it more difficult to read these articles, some of which are frankly embarrassing?

We have always known that Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) enormous family wealth in El Salvador was not unique, but was part of an oligarchy that controls most of the wealth in El Salvador. Tonight, someone Google-researched the "Belismelis Family Wealthy." Their search led them to the Truth About Kos blog, because a member of MAMZ's family is a player in a right-wing advocacy group in which the Belismelis family is involved.

Any additional and well-sourced information about the Belismelis family and it's indirect or direct contacts to MAMZ would certainly be published here as an article if sent to FrancisLHolland @ Gmail.com.

"We See You" Blog Includes "Truth About Kos" on Blog List

There's a blog called, "W.E.E. See You…" that covers the issues being raised in Black blogs generally and whose self-definition says the blog is, "Keeping Our Eyes on African Americans: Our History, Political Issues, & Popular Culture".

Although many white people's blogs have linked to the Truth About Kos blog *See side bar), Black people and particularly bloggers have found it hard to understand the relevance of virtually all-white DailyKos, Kos and Kos minions for Blacks.

It was therefore, a real wake-up call to other Black bloggers in 2008 when they and I discovered that the bloggers authorized to cover the Democratic National Convention were to be divided into two groups, one of which would cover the Convention action from a distance while other group, "State Bloggers Corps" or "Floor Bloggers" (all-white), would have constant access to the floor of the Convention.

When Black bloggers learned that NONE of the floor bloggers would represent a Black blog, I think Black bloggers began to understand why you can't authorize a man with 2% Black participants at his blog to design Blacks' access to the Democratic National Convention floor. And yet that is exactly what had happened. The whole State Blog idea was born on the campus of DailyKos clandestine services where Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) first helped to catalyze a group of State Blogs, each focusing narrowly and on the cloistered politics of their own state.

Then, Moulitsas convinced the DNCC that the best way to determine which bloggers would be on the floor of the Convention would be to select bloggers who focus specifically on the politics of their own state. Since Black bloggers cover the Black diaspora with concern for Africa, Philadephia and how we are being represented in Hollywood, it was a foregone conclusion that no Black blogs would be represented among the State Blog Corps, and that no Black blogs would have the constant access to the floor of the Convention that the all-white State Blogs would have.

When you trust a CIA-trained blogger with a Latino last name, who nonetheless insists that he is white and non-Hispanic, even though his mother is El Salvadoran; and who has zero percent Latino users at his DailyKos site be the one who designs Democratic Convention access, you'll get precisely what we got in 2008: an apartheid-like Jim Crow system that privileges a select group of white bloggers on a basis that is arbitrary and entirely spurious. You'll find that Black bloggers who ignore white bloggers' scheming are Black bloggers who are disadvantaged by white bloggers' scheming.

And so we are glad that the "We See You" Blog has acknowledged the importance of keeping an eye on all-white blogs that are intimately connected within the Democratic Party--the Party that cannot win presidential elections without Black and Latino votes..

Today, after the shooting of Arizona Democratic Representative Gabrielle Giffords, Alex Jones' Prison Planet blog and Infowars, by Kurt Nimo, wrote about the corporate and corporate blogs' media coverage of articles, blog posts and commentary about the shooting, pointing out that

In a Tweet, suspected CIA operative Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos wrote sarcastically: “Mission accomplished, Sarah Palin.”

I appreciate Prison Planet's recognition and InfoWars acknowledgement that the known CIA past and present activities of any public official or member of the public should be noted when writing about that official or person. Readers need to know when reading MAMZ's comments that "suspected CIA operative" Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga's (MAMZ´s) past includes, by his own audio-taped account, (see Trancript) two years of training and working with the CIA, from 2001 until 2003.

Prison Planet gives its readers the opportunity to weigh MAMZ's CIA involvement so that readers can give his comments all of the weight they deserve, and also better understand MAMZ's possible motives in making these comments. When we read MAMZ's comments we must always "take them for what they are worth," as judges take evidence in criminal and civil trials.

I personally believe that MAMZ's short and quotable accusantion against Sarah Palin in this instance is meant to increase his credibility in the mainstream media and among self-professed "progressives", "liberals" and "leftists". MAMZ wants to get out in front and make a comment that his target audience will take as the words of a "leftist", even if this "leftist" was trained at the CIA to infiltrate groups as a "Clandestine Operations" CIA-staffer.

I personally think it's fair to assume that when MAMZ started DailyKos (2002) while training with the CIA (2001-2003), MAMZ availed himself of the help of some of his CIA co-workers'. I cannot prove the veracity of my belief, but I believe the rabid defenses of MAMZ, at DailyKos and elsewhere, is bought and paid for.

It certainly is relevant that a public figure was trained for two years by the CIA, and the Prison Planet website recognizes that relevance when describing MAMZ as a "suspected CIA operative" and then links to a the Truth About Kos Blog article to a Commonwealth Club audio-taped interview of June 2006. In a verbatim transcript of that interview MAMZ is shown to have said,

Here’s a little secret I don’t think I’ve ever written about: But in 2001, I was unemployed, underemployed, unemployed. You know I was in that . . You all have been there “dot com” people? Kinda like, in between jobs, doin’ a little contract work and . . . kinda. So, you know. That’s where I was: in this really horrible netherworld of ‘will I make rent next month’ and . . .

So, I applied to the CIA and I went all the way to the end, I mean it was to the point where I was going to sign papers to become Clandestine Services. And it was at that point that the Howard Dean campaign took off and I had to make a decision whether I was gonna kinda join the Howard Dean campaign, that whole process, or was I was going to become a spy. (Laughter in the audience.) It was going to be a tough decision at first, but then the CIA insisted that if, if I joined that, they’d want me to do the first duty assignment in Washington, DC, and I hate Washington, DC. Six years in Washington, DC [inaudible] that makes the decision a lot easier.

[ . . .] This is a very liberal institution. And in a lot of ways, it really does attract people who want to make a better, you know, want to make the world a better place . . . Of course, they’ve got their Dirty Ops and this and that, right but as an institution itself the CIA is really interested in stable world. That’s what they’re interested in. And stable worlds aren’t created by destabilizing regimes and creating wars. Their done so by other means. Assassination labor leaders . . . I’m kidding!

[ . . . ] I don’t think it’s a very partisan thing to want a stable world. And even if you’re protecting American interests, I mean that can get ugly at times, but generally speaking I think their hearts in the right place. As an organization their heart is in the right place. I’ve never had any problem with the CIA. I’d have no problem working for them . Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA at the Commonwealth Club.

I think it is fairly obvious why the mainstream press does not print the above information which MAMZ has acknowledged and why they don't ask him to explain his comments more fully: The mainstream press of the left and the right has an unwritten rule that it does not "out" CIA agents and does not report and who has or is working with the CIA, particularly within the United States of America.

If the mainstream media reports MAMZ's self-described CIA history then he would no longer be a credible "leader of the left" because the general public would assume that MAMZ is an infiltrator of the Left rather than dedicated leader of public "progressive" opinion. Prison Planet website recognizes that relevance and importance of an employment history that includes CIA training and work in the past and a declaration that the same person that:

I’ve never had any problem with the CIA. I’d have no problem working for them in the present. Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA at the Commonwealth Club.

Isn't MAMZ effectively telling us that he DOES work for the CIA, since he has never subsequently addressed this topic and has never said that he does NOT work for the CIA? Why doesn't the mainstream press report this question and its relevance to his role in American politics?

That unwritten mainstream press rule that the press will not "out" CIA agents is followed both in the corporate so-called "liberal" news outlets as well as in the right-wing mainstream media. And so when MAMZ calls himself a leader of public opinion, most people are not able to weigh the truth of that against the fact that he was trained by and worked for the CIA at the same time that he opened a "leftist blog".

I regret that my friend has perceived my approach as potentially anti-gay, rather than exposing MAMZ as virulently anti-gay in his college years, so I explained my approach:

'I'm not anti-gay. I just published a letter of his from 1993 in which he opposed all gays in the military. Maybe I've bashed him so much about it that I seem like the culprit rather than him.

I think most people find out about my research on MAMZ through other blogs that have published my information verbatim.

They've published MAMZ's letter against gays in the military in many places, but they haven't published my attacks on him about this and my questions about his sexuality based on his screwy letter opposing all gay participation in the military interests only a few blogs.

In addition, I would observe that sex sells in America and, unfortunately, people come to this site in the hopes of discovering whether MAMZ is gay or not. If people come here for that reason, but then read additional pages about more pressing issues, then that's a victory to me.

They come here and discover that MAMZ is a hypocrite who admittedly voted for George H.W. Bush in 1992; voting against Bill Clinton; and then immediately fought against Clinton's plans to let gays serve in the military in 1993; and later attacked Hillary Clinton from the political left, in a WaPost published commentary, "Hillary Clinton: Too Much of a Clinton Democrat?", by Markos Moulitsas, WaPost, Sunday, May 7, 2006. This all is just more than I can take, and I hope a few others will feel the same way.

First MAMZ opposed the Clinton's for wanting to open the military to gays and then he opposed the Clintons for not be as "progressive" as he had become after spending two years in Washington, training with the Central Intelligence Agency. When Hillary Clinton said there was a vast right-wing conspiracy, MAMZ was certainly a part of that conspiracy in 1993, and then the continued to oppose Hillary Clinton until 2010.

Apparently, the proposed rule is that, 'Outing is fine, if you're outing a Republican newspaper writer. But if you're outing a CIA-trained "progressive blogger" than you should pull your punches?' I believe CIA-trained bloggers should be outed regardless of their sexuality, but if they out others based on sexuality and write homophobic screeds against gays, then they have it coming when the same thing happens to them.

It's entirely possible that much of the serious public will find MAMZ's 1993 homophobic letter, and what he says about himself in it, to be uninteresting. However, I predict that the 1993 anti-gay letter will seem to have been a prophetic gem of research by Truth About Kos when MAMZ's P.R balloon finally bursts. But, his family is outrageously wealthy in El Salvador and surely MAMZ doesn't lack for money in the United States. It's his "credibility" that he wants to build and exploit, but to me his credibility was indelibly marked "zero" when I learned that he had trained for two years with the CIA.

When I first began researching and MAMZ, I was angry at the pseudo-progressive blogger for taking to the pages of the Washington Post to attack Senator Hillary Clinton, the only candidate for president who was not a white man at that time. I correctly advocated toward the end of the 43-term white male monopoly of the presidency; I was write and those at DailyKos, who hated both Clinton and Obama, but loved John Edwards, turned out to have very poor political judgment.

An anonymous someone left a comment at the Francis L. Holland Blog, encouraging me to read Glenn Greenwald's articles at Salon.com I looked at Greenwald's post of today and it is about the secretive interactions and relationships between well-known bloggers, FBI employees, and the other employees of the US Justice Department.

But what is incontrovertibly true is that a Wired contributer -- who just so happens also to be Poulsen's prosecutor and long-time source -- played a key role in putting Lamo in contact with government authorities in order to inform on Manning. Poulsen never mentioned any of that, and -- even once Rasch's role was publicly reported -- never once disclosed his multi-faceted relationship to Rasch in all the times he's written about Manning and WikiLeaks. What's also true is that while many convicted hackers had very rigid restrictions placed on them when leaving prison (Kevin Mitnick, for instance, was originally barred from using the Internet entirely), Poulsen not only quickly began writing online as a journalist about the hacker world, but did so at the very same publication -- Security Focus -- that also repeatedly published articles by his prosecutor, Mark Rasch.

The article said that Kevin Poulson of the Wired blog has said that he has secret chat logs that detail information about the source of the recent famous WikiLeaks. Poulson of Wired refuses to publish what he says he has and Glenn Greenwald therefor doubts Poulson bona fides as an independent journalist.

I haven't read the WikiLeaks that people have been speaking about. Nonetheless, Greenwald's account is one that expresses grave doubts about who is working or collaborating with Government officials and when and why. It's conceivable that Poulson refuses to release the truckload of other documents, because to do so would identify Government informants, Government human assets within the blogging community, and other facts that we might never otherwise even imagine.

Poulson's reason for his refusal to divulge the Government documents might be pretty simple: there are laws against secret Government agents divulging names and other information about secret government assets and agents.

I believe that we have to recognize the likelihood some of the bloggers we read and some of the "facts" we read on the Internet are placed there by Government trained bloggers, as is the case with MAMZ. Take heart. Just as we have learned the facts about a photographer of Martin Luther King, Jr. also being on the FBI payroll, the time will come when the names and identities of Government-compromised bloggers will become common knowledge. In the mean time, Google the hell out of everything you hear or read, anywhere and everywhere, before you accept anything as fact or "background information".

Everyone must be considered suspect. Even me. So don't believe anything I report here until you've followed the links that prove the facts I assert.

I don't believe in "credibility" as a reason to believe what a bloggers says. I believe that individual blog articles gain credibility as readers track the citations and sources and come to the conclusion there is sufficient foundation to support the facts asserted.

As much as anything else, the Truth About Kos blog is a source of citations to foreign and domestic newspapers, magazine articles, corporate websites, US Government press releases, statements against interest (confessions) and other sources about MAMZ and his family, which information, particularly when gathered in one place, enables people on the Internet to simply drop a link to this blog in the comments sections at other blog in order to prove the facts about MAMZ.

Hunches often prove to be about demonstrable facts. That's why I Googled the names of everyone and everything mentioned in MAMZ's now invisible honeymoon photo album, which is how we learned that MAMZ's family is part of the Salvadoran oligarchy. The Truth About Kos doesn't follow MAMZ's daily histriconics because the purpose the the Truth About Kos blog was and is to utterly discredit MAMZ's effort to be seen as a "leftist", "liberal" or progressive". This blog accomplished that task back in 2007, with The Indictment of Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas ZÚÑIGA (MAMZ) by Justice and History (Updated with Additional Information and Counts).

Once we realized that MAMZ claimed to have, e.g., two years of CIA training under his belt, we knew that no one who thinks as we do could ever believe anything MAMZ said about the past, the present or the future.

In my opinion, this is at least part of why "YearlyKos" was renamed "Netroots Nation"; with MAMZ-minions insisting the exposure of MAMZ's history did not discredit the work of the hundreds of eager and ignorant participants at DailyKos. In my opinion, Kos was forced to distance himself from YearlyKos at least partially because "Kos" himself has been discredited.

Please send us those links that confirm (or do not confirm) what you have read when you've followed the links at the Truth About Kos. If new information is discovered, I'll write a post about it. If any statement of fact at this blog can be proved untrue, then I'll write a post about that as well. (No one has ever proved anything at this blog to be untrue, except by demonstrating that MAMZ spent two years and not just six months at the CIA, according to a recording and a transcript of his own words of June 2, 2006, when addressing a question about the CIA and his blog's strange defense of the CIA.)

Some MAMZ minions back in 2007 argued that there was doubt about whether the fact that MAMZ "trained" at the CIA for two years proved that he "worked" there. The CIA says that when you "train" at the CIA you "work" there. If this distinction between "trained" and "worked" is the only defense MAMZ's minions can offer in the face of proof that MAMZ was at the CIA (2001 - 2003) when he started DailyKos (2002), then obviously MAMZ is defenseless in the face of the facts of his and his family's once-secret history and ongoing right-wing behavior in El Salvador. To my knowledge, MAMZ has never denied that he currently works at the CIA, or is an asset of the CIA, receives payments from or provides resources to the CIA. Since he said he was at the CIA for two years, I think he should address the question of his present relationship with the same organization. The fact that a MAMZ family member received a one million dollar loan guarantee from the US Government's Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) is indicative of the level of contact and mutual support between MAMZ's family and the US Government.

If you want to know if MAMZ is gay, I can't answer that. However, I CAN point you toward his public confessions about his own sexuality and you can derive from that what you will.

One Google user came to this blog while looking for a photograph of MAMZ "shirtless." If anyone has such a picture, please post a link or location for it. If it's a real photograph then it constitutes "truth about Kos."

Who wants to see MAMZ shirtless?

One reader has begged me to stop discussing Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga ("Kos" of DailyKos') sexuality at this blog, because it detracts from reader knowledge about MAMZ' connections to the CIA and extreme right-wing politics (See two screenshots of DailyKos discussions in which readers discuss and MAMZ acknowledges that he was a right-wing political activisits before he was trained at the CIA and then became a leftist leader, just months after he voted for a Bush and against Bill Clinton for president). Is it possible to include more cognitive dissonance and incredible and a more infiltrator-like political cover story in one sentence?

So, yes, I acknowledge that there are for more important aspects of MAMZ's history than his possibly homosexual and certainly homophobic letter to his college newspaper.

Nonetheless, when people search Google for "Markos Moulitsas shirtless" I have to acknowledge that some possibly homosexual men see Markos Moulitsas as a sex object. Why in the world would anyone want to see MAMZ "shirtless" if not because they were a homosexual man who finds MAMZ attractive. Can anyone imagine a woman doing a shirt for MAMZ "shirtless". One of the truths about Kos is that a significant number of people, many of whom may be gay men, show a consistent interest in MAMZ real sexual orientation, whatever it is. Well, calm those hormones and ask yourself whether you would really like to get with a man like MAMZ, in spite of who he really is, who his family is, and what he has really has done with the years of his life that he wants us to ignore or even endorse while believing that, "He's evolved."

DailyKos minions endeavor to cover all these obvious contradictions by saying, "he's evolved." If so, MAMZ had an incredibly quick evolution, because he acknowledges voting for Bush in 1992, and then says he went to work on the Howard Dean Democratic leftist campaign in 1993! Does anyone and can anyone believe that MAMZ voted for Bush in November (while being trained at the CIA) and then became a leftist Dean activist by Christmas of the same year?

Here's a hint: The same MAMZ-minions who claimed to believe in what we now know was John Edwards presidential-sized campaign of extra-marital cheating and cover-up are the people who are still participating in DailyKos today, insisting that there is nothing contradictory about training at the CIA while starting a blog for leftists. MAMZ himself acknowledges the obvious contradictions when he jokes about the CIA assassination of overseas union leaders and why he wanted to work for them anyway.

If you still want information about MAMZ's sexuality, at least we know that he no one--male or female--is watching when he changes his "underpants." However, if anyone does have a photograph of MAMZ shirtless, I would be happy to post it here for those who want to climax.

Truth About Kos on "We See You" Link List

It seems like a decade ago, but I was once posting on MyLeftWing, providing "the truth about Kos." I remember that two supporters of Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga ("MAMZ,"--but don't call him "Zúñiga" because he's white, not Latino, he says) consoled each other, by saying that it seemed as though I had printed all of MAMZ's hidden background, and so there would be no more embarrassing discoveries.

I had written and published my eventually 31-Count Indictment, so they thought the story was over.

What they didn't count on is that blogs from across the blogosphere would continue to print this information as they became aware of it, and we would never be completely comfortable that an (ex?) Republican operative who was training at the CIA when he started DailyKos, could nonetheless be the leader of the American left.

The Truth About Kos blog would have had no influence on the blogosphere's knowledge of MAMZ, were it not for all of the other blogs, like We See You, that picked up the information and engaged in discussions about it. And so we are grateful to all of the blogs (see right side bar) that have seen it appropriate to link to the Truth About Kos, both through their linklists and through articles and comments. It is because of these blogs that the truth about Kos can never be hidden again.

Were it not for these links, many fewer people would know that MAMZ once wrote a letter to the editor opposing ALL gay service in the military.

Truth About Kos found some MAMZ articles in the Northern Start so be so utterly absurd, offensive and insensitive that Truth About Kos has assembled a list of all but one of them, for readers to peruse.

I personally found the summation article about "racism" and the letter to the editor expressing homophobia to be the most interesting. What's most interesting about the series on "racism" is that MAMZ immediately disavows the series in a personal note published at the paper, in which

MAMZ Denies Being Latino in Spite of "ZÚÑIGA" Maternal Surname:

"Sure, I could always talk against racism, fight ignorance and prejudice wherever I ran into it, yet I would always be looking in from another room and I could always close the door. My life, in my world, in my own detached selfishness. And as I left the ugly reality of racism behind, it struck me that what was such an easy and trivial exercise for me would be impossible for anyone whose skin color or religious persuassion (sic) made them the target of bigotry and discrimination. THEY would never be able to escape who THEY were." (Emphasis added.)

Aren't Latinos targets of bigotry, or is MAMZ not Latino? The constant use of the word "they"and the assertion that he will not be the target of bigotry seem like a definitive statement that MAMZ believes he is simply a white man: nothing more and nothing less. He wrote a series about bigotry on campus and then he immediately disavowed the series as a "trivial exercise", and said that, for his part, he could and would go back to "my own detached selfishness" while forgetting about people who face bigotry every day.

And then just a few months later voting against Bill Clinton, MAMZ criticized Bill Clinton strongly for Clinton's efforts to end the policy of restricing gays' participation in the US Military. When you vote for Republicans and criticize Democratic Party politics, that make you a Republican in my book. MAMZ disagrees and we all will have to come to our own conclusions whether a MAMZ who voted for George Bush and was trained by the CIA should nonetheless be allowed to remake the Democratic Party in his own image.

Please read his statement that, "I would always be looking in from another room and I could always close the door. My life, in my world, in my own detached selfishness. And as I left the ugly reality of racism behind . . . " And now ask yourself whether that paragraph should be part of the Democratic Party Platform in 2012? If you disagree with that paragraph as part of the Democratic Party platform, then you understand why MAMZ has to be stopped before he gets that far.

New Black Leaders, Old Civil Rights Groups Conflict in Net Neutrality Debate

Please remember that the First Amendment to the US Constitution prevents the US Government and the states from abridging our right to free speech, but it does not oblige huge communications corporations like newspapers and Internet providers to carry our content. It does not prevent corporate giants from limiting or discontinuing our speech.

I was an active participant at Now Public, with my articles drawing hundreds of reads, until Now Public was bought by a Phillip Anschutz, a billionaire Republican who donated to people like Senator "Wide Stance" Larry Craig, John McCain and state Republican parties. (See my article entitled, "Billionaire Republican Campaign Donor Buys "Now Public" Site").

About three days after this Republican billionaire bought Now Public, my posting privileges were withdrawn and placed "under review" and have remained withdrawn and "under review" for over a year now.

I understand what happens when billionaire pro-Republican individuals and groups get control over Internet content, and I don't want to see that happen to the entire Internet.

If they do get content control over the Internet, then I think you can kiss groups like BlackNetAction and Color of Change goodbye. Since we do not agree with large Republican Corporations about many things, we may find that our groups' accounts are "under review" as well.

I am no expert on Net Neutrality or the proposals before the Federal Trade Commission, but I do understand major corporations trying to gain monopoly control over the Internet and then use it to squelch Black people's and Democrats' communication with each other. Why should they carry our content if we are disagreeing with them at every turn?

At this point, cable corporations control the speed of each of our Internet connections, but not the content. What I have read is that a few big cable corporations want the green light to, for example, charge the public one price if we want access only to commercial sites, but charge more if we want access to send or receive messages from non-profit groups like Color of Change and Black Net Action. Or charge Color of Change more if it wants access to e.g. send and receive e-mails from people in the 50 states.

Although I haven't heard these specific proposal, I can well imagine it happening, particularly if groups like ours continue to challenge these major corporations, as we do when we see color-aroused antagonistic and anti-Black commercials on television and in print.

The entire Internet could become like a privately-owned newspaper, where the editorial board decides what will be published and what will not.

Over the last two decades, "letters to the editor" have become practically irrelevant compared to the power of our communications over the Internet, our blogs and websites. But, if corporate giants get editorial control over our Internet content, then we will effectively be back to writing letters to the editor and hoping the publisher agrees with our message enough to publish it.

That would be a gargantuan defeat for us and our communities and it is a battle that we must fight to our last breath.

"Civil Rights" Groups Being Used to Limit Blacks' Access to Internet

A Key, Unknown Player in Civil Rights Groups' Attack on the Open Internet

Last Wednesday, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski proposed Network Neutrality rules that he claims will save the open Internet.

As another FCC commissioner has attested, these ruleswill do no such thing. Instead, they will allow the big broadband companies, like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast, to erect toll booths on the Internet that will result in segregated online communities where wealthy content and application providers will pay a premium for carriage, with everyone else discarded to a secondary, lower quality tier.

Such a policy would be disastrous for the Black community. Today, the Internet — unlike cable television, broadcast radio, or print — is the sole medium where we can communicate with each other nationally and globally, pushing back on the political and social status quo without the interference of corporate gatekeepers.

If Chairman Genachowski succeeds in letting the big phone and cable players carve up the Internet, the day will come when many in the civil rights community will realize and regret their role in making it happen.

Net neutrality is a core principle that is largely responsible for the Internet being such a powerful and transformative tool. It requires that content gets carried by Internet service providers with the same priority and speed regardless of the sender. It's the way the Internet has worked since the beginning. Those who are arguing for net neutrality are simply trying to maintain the status quo — a status quo that has enabled the Internet to flourish in a way that no other communications technology has.

Without net neutrality, Google, Facebook, the Huffington Post and MoveOn.org would not exist; neither would Barack Obama be President. And it's an open Internet that has made the campaigns that we've run at ColorOfChange possible — everything from holding Fox News accountable for the likes of Glenn Beck, to stripping away Beck's advertisers, to telling the story of the Jena 6, or advocating for the rights of Katrina survivors.

For over a year, several of the most prominent civil rights groups have been aligned with AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast — whether knowingly or not — in those companies' efforts to end net neutrality. But they have not acted alone. In my conversations with many groups and individuals inside the Beltway, one man emerges as the nerve center for much of the action we've seen on the part of the civil rights groups. His name is David Honig.

David is the executive director of the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council (MMTC). He is in many ways the face and voice for Black America in Washington, D.C. on Internet issues, and perhaps the most influential person from the civil rights community representing our interests on media and telecom policy.

For years, national civil rights groups have relied on his counsel on what positions to take on key communications issues. And for years, he has been regarded as an honest and helpful broker when it came to addressing broadcasting issues.

But when it comes to Internet policy, David is writing a new and different chapter. Over the past couple of years, Honig's positions and statements seem to align him with the phone and cable companies who are set on undermining the open nature of the Internet. And those statements repeatedly appear in filings endorsed by the major civil rights groups. In my opinion, Honig is leading many of the respected civil rights groups he is advising off of the digital cliff.

Two weeks ago, I made a fact-based argument in a letter to House Majority Leader Pelosi about my concerns regarding a Black member of Congress, who has been aligned with AT&T and Comcast in opposing net neutrality and is vying for a subcommittee post with oversight over the Internet. The Congressman's response was to attack me personally, and to side-step my arguments.

Shortly thereafter, Honig and his organization appeared on a letter with every civil rights and black legislative group you can imagine to counter my letter with their own letter to Pelosi (Honig has organized groups around letters and FCC filings in the past; I presume this time is no different).

Did they engage any of the arguments I put forth? No. Not one.

After personally attacking me for allegedly being "uncivil," Honig then asserted that the Congressman's "position is on all fours with the Open Internet policy endorsed by the labor unions, all the minority intergovernmental organizations and virtually every national civil rights organization except ColorofChange."

Honig doesn't mention that he himself has been a driving force in getting these organizations to sign on to letters of support for the policy he mentions, and, in my opinion, using weak and debunked arguments. He also doesn't mention that the groups to which he's referring have been recipients of millions of dollars from AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast (I don't know if MMTC has received financial support from AT&T, Verizon or Comcast, but if it has, it should disclose that as well). While one can argue that these dollars don't have influence, the disclosure is important when making such statements, as is providing a characterization of an organization's funding picture and any other evidence to show how these dollars don't introduce influence.

Along with many others, I have written pieces here and elsewhere that have described the relationship between corporate dollars from AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast, advocacy groups, and Black members of Congress. And I've deconstructed the core, faulty logic in the arguments carried by these messengers: that if we let these large corporations have their way and do away with net neutrality, they'll take their increased profits and suddenly invest in our communities where they traditionally haven't (historically they simply haven't done so, despite already seeing profit margins as high as 80 percent). It's a cynical trickle-down argument that defies the basic logic of how businesses operate. And it's the core sentiment that seems to anchor the anti-net neutrality statements in the filings and statements authored by Honig.

Some in Honig's camp also like to say that net neutrality is a solution in search of a problem. To say that, or to defend someone else's doing so, is to ignore statements made by the major players expressing their desire for a tiered system; instances where they've been caught attempting to censor or control content and applications on the Internet; and the obvious business incentives the companies have for doing so.

I'm interested in an honest debate and discussion about this issue but I still can't find, after almost a year of trying, arguments that hold water or that justify the civil rights groups' opposition to net neutrality. I've also had the good fortune of talking with David Honig directly and will continue to do so, but none of the arguments he has presented to me thus far have altered my perspective on the core issues I've raised here and elsewhere. In the meantime, I hope to get as much sunlight as possible on the dynamics I see in play.

Does it Matter if Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ) is Gay ?

A frequent visitor to this blog who goes by the anonymous name "nikogriego", says:

You are apparently obsessed with this subject [of MAMZ's sexuality]. When will you get off this MAMZ is gay thing? Why should we care whether he is gay? Who are you to label people as being "good gay" or "bad gay"?

Are you gay yourself? Homophobic? Why should I even care? It is much more important that MAMZ be revealed as a progressive "gatekeeper" who is working to actively prevent discussion of the events of 9/11/01 by other progressives, and to frustrate attempts to get the truth out. I think you have done a good job of showing that MAMZ is not what he appears to be, but get off the gay thing, please.

I like to please readers with well-sourced and unambiguous information, but this is time when I simply can't please readers, because the question has not been conclusively answered. I have NEVER said that MAMZ is conclusively gay. But the "truth about Kos" is that half of the hits to this blog come from people using Google to find out whether MAMZ is gay or not. Like the question of whether MAMZ is presently employed by the CIA, MAMZ himself refuses to answer this simple question, preferring ambiguity.

Remarkably, MAMZ once got a Republican journalist and operative fired by outing him as possibly gay. The Washington Post said at the time,

Under the headline "A Voice of the New Media: The Voice Goes Silent," Gannon wrote on his personal Web page that because of the attention "I find it is no longer possible to effectively be a reporter for Talon News" and that he is quitting "in consideration of the welfare of me and my family." Gannon added in a brief interview that "my family has been victimized" and that he wanted to "put some separation between Talon News and the White House."

Gannon's resignation highlights the no-holds-barred atmosphere of the Web, which both enabled him to function as a reporter -- his stories appeared on a site founded by Texas Republican activist Bobby Eberle -- and produced a swarm of critics determined to expose him.

Among the domain names registered by Gannon's company several years ago, but never launched, were Hotmilitarystud.com, Militaryescorts.com and Militaryescortsm4m.com, along with Exposejessejackson.com. The bloggers also have linked to a since-withdrawn America Online photo of a man who appears to be Gannon, posing in his underwear, with a screen name bearing the initials "JDG."

I find it remarkably ironic that MAMZ presents himself as gay-neutral in 2010 after being absolutely opposed to being in the presence of gays in 1993, and then ruining the career of a possibly gay GOP journalist by bringing that man's sexuality into question.

It fits a pattern of MAMZ creating a new and profoundly ironic and literally incredible narrative for his life, including rewriting his past, even to the extent of lying about which country he was born in, and often including bold-faced lies, like the assertion that he was "an immigrant to the United States" when he was actually born in Chicago. For people like MAMZ, no lie is too large to be told with a straight face.

I also write about MAMZ's sexuality because the public wants to read about it. Once they're here at this blog, there are obviously many other more important issues about MAMZ that readers can peruse, aside from this CIA-trained homophobic politician's sexuality and his manhood.

A whole book could be written analyzing what MAMZ has said about his sexuality and his once-shaky manhood. I think this is an important issue, since MAMZ wants to "crash the gates" of the Democratic Party and choose the party's leaders. This is in a Party that wins 90% of Blacks' votes in presidential elections, while DailyKos has 3% Black readership and even less Black participation. I think the Party has a right to know something about the blogger whose blog participants were so idiotically pro-John Edwards in 2006 and 2007. Just read the comments to my anti-Edwards blog post at DailyKos for proof of how much these idiots thought nominating John Hunter Reille Edwards would be a good idea!

Does MAMZ hate gays because he is a homophobic heterosexual or because he is a homosexual homophobic? I want an answer to that from this man who proposes to "crash the gates" of the Democratic Party and he has made ambiguous statements that rightfully leave the public wondering about his sexuality and how he feels about gays.

Since MAMZ once drove a possibly gay man out of his employment by outing him, that's plenty of reason to wonder out loud about MAMZ's own sexuality, taken in the context of 1993 letter saying he couldn't stand being around gays. I think that one letter is perhaps the single most interesting and self-revealing thing he has said or written, even compared with all he has said since the period when the CIA trained him while he was starting DailyKos.

As for my own sexuality, I've experimented, but all of my three marriages have been with women.

Why does MAMZ seem to be wearing red lipstick in the photo above?

Marcos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ of DailyKos) wrote this "letter to the editor" of his college newspaper, vehemently opposing ALL gay participation in the US military. (If the Northern Illinois University Northern Star archive link no longer works, for the fifth time in three years, then you can still see a screen shot of the letter here.)

I wonder if that letter was related to, or in some way inspired by, this:

Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8772014

The MentalHealth.Net site further explains:

It would seem that the findings lend support to the Freudian defense mechanism called "reaction-formation," in which anxiety-producing or unacceptable emotions and impulses are mastered by exaggeration of the directly opposing tendency. In other words, the homopobic young man who has violent urges is really hiding strong homosexual feelings and impulses that cause him so much anxiety that he must cover them up by acting violently. Most probably these young men are unaware of their homosexual wishes.

So, is MAMZ gay? I frankly wonder whether he is not trying to look gay in the above photograph. He appears to be wearing red lipstick to match his red shirt and he has a sly coquette-like look on his face. Am I right or wrong?

MAMZ has never denied being gay, and his letter provides significant support for a growing public perception and belief that he could be gay. He is married with at least one child, but we all have learned over the last two decades that there is nothing about marriage and children that prevents a man from being gay.

We will only know for certain when and if he or one of his lovers comes forth to tell his story. Until then all we have is speculation and the very strangely homophobic letter he wrote and published at his college newspaper.

I don't think its strange that we don't know of any gay lovers he might speculatively have had. We know with certainty that he has a biological family, and yet he has never acknowledged the name of a single one of his biological family members. He has even denied being Latino. So, we know that his silence on a subject doesn't mean that the whole story has been told. We never learned about the above homophobic letter until I personally read all three-dozen or so articles he published at his college newspaper. (Warning: links to these articles no longer work and Google does not point to them, so you will have to search for Moulitsas' name among the archives of his college newspaper.)

We only learned the names of his family members by searching online records, and googling the telephone number of his "family hotel" to see who else was using that telephone number. That is how we found Carlos Alberto Delgado Zúñiga .

We also may have learned the names of his mother and step-father (Charles Almond), but they have proved to be nowhere near as interesting as Carlos Alberto Delgado Zúñiga . Aside from having names that are remarkably similar and being parties in the same "family hotel", everything we have learned about Carlos Alberto Delgado Zúñiga has only served to disprove MAMZ's habitual assertion that he is "not from wealthy or influential family.

As this link shows, MAMZ is part of what may be one of the most wealthy and influential oligarchy families in El Salvador. And that makes MAMZ an habitual liar, when taken in the context of his own story of his past.

By the way, Congressman Barney Frank is a "good gay." He's progressive in his politics and fights for more rights for gays, immigrants and the public at large. MAMZ, if he is gay, is a "bad CIA-gay." I'll write about his sexual preference if that's what the reading public most wants to know about, but I think it is far more important that he says he was training to be a "secret agent" for the CIA's Clandestine Services at the same time (in 2002) when he started his DailyKos blog. If MAMZ is gay, he's a "bad gay."

Some people claim to see no contradiction and have no cognitive dissonance when informed that MAMZ admittedly was training to be a CIA agent in 2002, while starting an ostensibly "leftist" blog. People who claim not to see the contradiction are either lying, or are hopelessly lost in John Edwards version of MAMZ's past, or are perhaps just idiots. Some people just cannot seem to compare fact to self-serving campaign public relations fiction:

On Tuesday, former John Edwards aide Andrew Young and his wife Cheri were ordered to spend up to 75 days in jail for contempt of court. The contempt charge stems from the couple's handling of an alleged sex tape filmed during Edwards' campaign featuring the former presidential candidate and his mistress Rielle Hunter.

Hunter sued Young for possession of the purported sex tape, which Young claims involves Edwards performing oral sex on a pregnant Hunter. The judge handling the case, Abraham Penn Jones, now believes that the Youngs are withholding relevant items from the court including additional copies of the tape, ABC News reported.

Many of those who still support MAMZ are among those who still support John Edwards.

Are Some Peaceful Foreign and Domestic Protest Groups Funded and Led by the CIA and Related Entities?

As soon as I saw the street demonstration in Iran on the news, I believed that it was funded and organized by the CIA. The protests and the national attention they received, along with the protesters' uncanny ability to get themselves into the international news day after day, and to use the Internet with such acumen in their first time out seemed askew to me.

I haven't read all of what's below so I can't vouch for its truthfulness, but I know a lot of people come to this Truth About Kos Blog to understand how elites manipulate and distort the news that we read and the opinions that we form. This has been particularly true, in my opinion, of the non-violent activists' efforts to overthrow the Government of Iran. It's my personal opinion based more on history than on knowledge of this particular situation, that the CIA and other associated organizations are behind the street protests that have been in the news over the last year against the government of Iran.

The protests reminded me of the wealthy Chileans banging in the streets on metal puts with metal spoons, trying to show that they, the bourgeoisie, were victims of the eventually-CIA-overthrown elected Government of Chile's Salvador Allende. It's worth noting that his party made gains in the national Congress just before he was overthrown.

I'm not against non-violent spontaneous protests against dictatorial regimes. I just believe it's relevant when and if these protests are organized and funded by the CIA and/or other associated groups, in the same way that the USA's TeaBaggers have been funded by the billionaire Koch Brothers and international newspaper publisher Rupert Murdoch. I definitely believe that funding from these three particular billionaires is relevant to the work of the teabaggers. Frank Rich at the Washington Post says,

There’s just one element missing from these snapshots of [Tee-Bagger] America’s ostensibly spontaneous and leaderless populist uprising: the sugar daddies who are bankrolling it, and have been doing so since well before the “death panel” warm-up acts of last summer. Three heavy hitters rule. You’ve heard of one of them, Rupert Murdoch. The other two, the brothers David and Charles Koch, are even richer, with a combined wealth exceeded only by that of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett among Americans.

The Koch brothers and Rupert Murdoch must be very pleased today with their ability to influence elections across the United States by pouring unlimited and even anonymous monies into the American political system.

(Parenthetically, in gay lingo a "tea-bagger" is a man who likes to suck the scrotum of another man or men, so calling the Koch/Murdoch protesters "tea-baggers" is an insult both to gay men and to the bought and paid for right-wing "Tea Party" organizations.)

Below is an article that alleges that specific media are controlled by dubious interlocking right-wing and military directorates and that foreign "human rights groups" are sometimes funded and directed by the CIA. If readers can prove something in the article below to be definitely true or definitely false, or certainly dubious or clearly probable, then I readers to go to the comment section below and provide links to the information that forms the basis of their opinions and facts.

I take no position on the following, except to say that proving or disproving the following may be interesting to our readers, based on the number of hits our Site Meter shows for phrases like "media manipulation" and "gatekeeper blogs".

Likewise, I take no position on this author's personal "credibility", because I deem that to be irrelevant to the question of whether the facts asserted are true of not. Likewise, I wouldn't want anyone to say that an assertion is definitely true, simply because they read it at the Truth About Kos Blog. I hope readers will read my citations (and those in the article below) and decide for themselves.

I must admit that I do not give credence to assertions that are made without evidence (links to credible sources or links that tie together people in groups), and I do read links to see if they prove the facts asserted:

Fake Peace Activism Tied To The Military and CIA

This won't be the most coherent entry. Apologies in advance. The following only recently came to my attention through reading an obscure blogger named Stu Piddy. He posted most of the following links and connections. There is a group of people and institutions who are posing as activists promoting velvet revolutions, those that are non-violent. On the surface it seems like a noble cause. But a closer look shows their intentions are actually insidious. A side story is that one of the founders of this cause has had glowing words for Markos Moulitsas of the Daily Kos. Seeing how Markos has called the CIA a liberal institution he'd have no problem working for, there is further albeit circumstantial evidence that Moulitsas has been running a fifth column blog.

If anyone knows the real story behind Jack Duvall and his International
Center for Nonviolent Conflict, I'd be extremely grateful to hear it.

This guy, who purports to be some kind of pacifist, travels around the world with a dog-and-pony show centering on movies he's produced called "Bringing Down a Dictator" and "A Force More Powerful." His current position on Iraq, which he is selling heavily to college and university crowds, is that the peace movement has no right to oppose the invasion unless it offers an alternative way of getting rid of Saddam. (His suggestion -- don't laugh -- is that the Iraqi people should be encouraged to rise up in a Gandhi-style nonviolent mass movement.)

So far as I can tell, he intervenes whenever the US wants to bring down a government by military force, attempting to refocus any First World opposition away from opposing imperialism and toward "bringing down dictators by non violent means."

I suspect Jack Duvall is a fraud and possibly some kind of spook (see weird career details below) whose aim is to divide the antiwar movement.

The other day, unbidden, he sent a nasty little email screed to the mailing list of the campus antiwar group I belong to. It attacked ANSWER as a tool of Iraqi government propaganda. I won't bore you with further details of the ensuing email exchange, but suffice it to say he seems on the brink of achieving exactly what he desires -- driving a wedge between campus pacifists and leftists. The students who had seen his very slick presentation, it seems, were swept off their feet and reacted furiously to our attempts to criticize him.

Turns out his background is very odd for a "pacifist."

He's a TV producer and PR flack, and a member of the Washington establishment who:

* served in Air Force counterintelligence(!)
* worked in the Nixon White House
* wrote speeches for major-party Presidential campaigns, and
* raised money for warmaker Bill Clinton and Homeland Security architect Gary Hart.

Moreover, Duvall is currently a director of a consulting business called The Arlington Institute (http://www.arlingtoninstitute.org/), which does weird "scenario building" for business and government clients. An excerpt from their site:

"Some of our clients want to know about the future of their marketplace, or a major contributing factor to their operating environment, like technology. Others are concerned about possible big surprise events - wild cards - that might blow in unexpectedly and fundamentally shift the status quo. Perhaps your concern is a geographic area - like Africa, or you are considering the purchase of a major asset and want to have a sense of what might change the present situation that makes that a good decision -- all of these are good candidates for scenario planning."

This suggests Arlington is in the business of helping its clients predict and defend against political events and popular movements that might harm their investments.

Promoting 'Democracy' through Civil Disobedience by Michael Barker

In 1989, Dr Ackerman's coauthor Jack Duvall helped found another notable non-profit 'democracy promoting' research center, the Arlington Institute. Like many of the people involved in the previous 'democratic' groups the main person behind this venture, John L. Petersen, is a military man through and through, [17] and the center boasts amongst its cofounders former head of the CIA, James Woolsey. [18] Furthermore, the Arlington Institute's website notes that they specialize 'in thinking about global futures and trying to influence rapid, positive change', which ties in neatly with Jonathan Mowat's description of the Arlington Institute as strategists for the new postmodern coup. [19]

This blog was created in honour of Dave Weintraub who did a lot of good work in exposing Markos Moulitsas. Here is the Kos connection. Above Al Giordano of Narco News was mentioned. This is what he has had to say about the CIA loving founder of Daily Kos. I realise that this and other connections could be seen as guilt by association. But my thinking is that is a strawman argument. If we are what we eat, then we can also be said to be part and parcel of those we associate with. How does one separate Brad Friedman from the Speedway Bomber Brett Kimberlin? How can Michael Rivero separate himself from Curtis Maynard, Alex Jones and the Birdman? How can Patrick Minnis of NASA separate himself from the founder of Chemtrail Central? How can Tinoire of Progressive Independent separate herself from military intelligence? I could go on. But you get the point.

Peace Activists, Criticism, and Nonviolent Imperialism

Paradoxically, one of the main problems of liberal foundations is not that they have colluded with the Central Intelligence Agency, or have and continue to support the work of elite planning groups like the Council on Foreign Relations, but rather that they support all manner of progressive causes -- as a quick perusal of their annual reports (pdf) will demonstrate. Most progressive groups only receive a small proportion of their funding from liberal foundations, but, as many of these groups are regularly on the brink of financial bankruptcy, the money that is distributed by liberal philanthropists is much sought after and has formidable (if rarely acknowledged) influence -- even when there are 'no strings attached' to the funding -- on the contours of civil society.

Earlier criticisms of liberal foundations appear to have simply washed off their backs. However, in the past few years a groundswell of new activists and researchers are openly questioning the antidemocratic nature of liberal philanthropy, so now is the perfect time for activists, all over the world, to really get to the bottom of the funding/activism nexus: only then can concerned people start to create and sustain grassroots movements that will be able to truly challenge capitalism and successfully promote peace.

Peter Ackerman, whose family philanthropy is behind the ICNC, is also the head of something called Freedom House. Stephen Gowans claims that it is a "CIA-interlocked think-tank." He cites Chomsky in the footnote as the basis for this factoid. The following is from an article concerning the recent democratic upheaval in Iran. Wow. There is so much to social reality. There are so many complexities. This is how propagandists get away with their shenanigans. Now I am unsure what has really been going on in Iran the last year. My gut told me a we the people campaign was taking ascent there. I saw those who belittled that movement as being a part of the Joos Own The World crowd. And of course many of those bloggers are part of that bullshite. However, the following by Gowans is certainly a big plate of food for thought. (excerpt)

As the head of Freedom House, a CIA-interlocked think-tank [1] that promotes free markets, free enterprise and free trade, Peter Ackerman has been at the forefront of efforts to topple foreign governments that place more emphasis on promoting the welfare of their citizens (and often their own bourgeoisie) than providing export and investment opportunities to US corporations, banks, and investors.

A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Washington-Wall Street insiders' group that brings together corporate CEOs and lawyers, scholars, and government and military officials to recommend foreign policy positions to the US State Department, Ackerman also heads the International Center for Non-Violent Conflict (ICNC). Working in parallel with billionaire financier George Soros' Open Society Institute, the ICNC deploys civil disobedience specialists to teach "activists how to agitate for change against" governments on Washington's regime change hit list, "going everywhere from Eastern Europe to train Belarusians to Turkey to coach Iranians." Ackerman and other civil disobedience imperialists, like Stephen Zunes, a self-styled progressive who acts as chief apologist for Ackerman among leftists who have romantic illusions about popular uprisings, [3] give their efforts to topple foreign governments the deceptively reassuring name "democracy promotion." Democracy promotion, a Bush administration official once said, is a rubric to get people to support regime change without saying the words. [4] Zunes has also sprung to the defense of Gene Sharp, the head of the Albert Einstein Institution, who advised right-wing Venezuelans on how to use civil disobedience to overthrow Hugo Chavez. [5]

And that will lead us to the final link in this humble blog entry. What is up with the US trying to destablise Chavez in Venezuela? Is it mostly about a new wave of fake peace activists (ever hear of Carol Rosin?) with various military and CIA ties whose main goals concern attempts at perverting democratic principles in sovereign nations? Does Kos' support of Ronald Reagan, the CIA, and the El Salvadoran oligarchy add up now or what?

Another ‘Orange Revolution’ after the Ukrainian and Yugoslavian ones, a destabilization plan made in USA

In these days, Venezuela lives a big destabilization plan aiming to overthrow Chavez government and to pave the way for an international intervention. This plan follows a way already putted in practice on other countries like Yugoslavia to overthrow Milosevic, or Ukraine with the ‘Orange Revolution’. This plan was also used in Georgia for the ‘Rose Revolution’.

The text of this plan, written by Gene Sharp, promoter of the Albert Einstein Institution of the United States, promotes the utilization of the civil non-violent resistance to make radical political changes in a country. But Sharp’s plan contains almost 200 actions and strategies for the social, political and economic destabilization; ....

The pupil of Sharp, Ackerman, is now the president of Freedom House financed by the State Department to ‘promote democracy’ in the world by the American way; it has a seat in Venezuela from September 2004, after the revocation referendum against Chavez. Peter Ackerman took up his engagement replacing James Woosley, ex-director of CIA representing the US intelligence and security forces. Also Ackerman is a promoter of the International Centre for Non-Violent Conflict, organization that produced documentaries like ‘Bringing down a dictator’, ‘Orange Revolution’ and books like ‘Strategic Nonviolent Conflict’ and ‘A Force More Powerful’.....

These US organizations, with the Freedom House, its centre of Venezuela and the funds of the State Department, are working for a new ‘coloured revolution’. This last week was the proof that this plan is in progress. Groups like ORVEX (organization of Venezuelan self-exiles in USA), Ofensiva Ciudadana and the Comando de Resistencia Nacional are trying to put in practice the ‘Gene Sharp’ plan to create chaos and insecurity in the country, causing repression to promote the international intervention. With their ‘guarimbas’ actions (sabotages, provocations of groups of people that make blocks and clashes with the police), their violence in the streets (1) and the utilization of the young Venezuelan people faces, they manipulate the world public opinion, obtaining the effect that multilateral organisms, like OAS (Organization of American States), European Community, US government or international associations for the human rights, are making critical statements about the Venezuelan government and support the destabilizing groups.

Though they didn’t carry out their objectives, the proofs show that they will keep on applying these strategies to obtain international support and the power to attack once again the Venezuelan democracy and the welfare of the people. Put an end to the actions of groups like Freedom House and the International Republican Institute would be the right way to defend the nation. These organizations are used by the State Department and CIA and are working freely in Venezuela.

Marines' leader: Keep policy on gays in military

Having come to office with a promise to end the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) policy that requires gays in the military to pretend that they are heterosexual, now President Obama should request and accept the resignation of Gen. James Amos, Assistant Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corp, because James Amos is unable to carry out the mission set by the President, his Commander in Chief.

The decision to get rid of DADT, is a political one made in the 2008 Democratic Primaries and General Election. But, like Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga (MAMZ), Asst. Commandant Amos says:

"There is nothing more intimate than young men and young women - and when you talk of infantry, we're talking our young men - laying out, sleeping alongside of one another and sharing death, fear and loss of brothers," he said. "I don't know what the effect of that will be on cohesion. I mean, that's what we're looking at. It's unit cohesion, it's combat effectiveness."

That sounds an awful lot like what MAMZ wrote and published at his college newspaper against ALL gay participation in the military back in 1993:

Under military circumstances, as much has to be done as possible to focus the unit's mission and keep disciplinary problems to a minimum. Worrying about whether the known homosexual sleeping next to you is watching as you change your underwear may seem trivial as you read this, but to the soldier who's short-tempered after three weeks in the field and four hours of daily sleep, it becomes a matter of great importance to his pride and sensibilities. The nonsense is the same although it's now seventeen years since the implementation of the DADT policy, which itself was a compromise between those who support equal rights and responsibilities, on the one hand, and those who opposed gay service in the military.

MAMZ also agreed with the most rightward members of the military when he wrote in the same letter:

And in any case, there aren't many people who would change clothes in a group of co-workers if members of the opposite sex were in the same room watching. There is something inherently uncomfortable about it.

I've always found this to be a strange attitude, since men have to undress in front of women, and women must become undressed with men in or to engage in heterosexual coitus. Is MAMZ saying that he doesn't engage in sex with women men or men at all, or that he only does so with his clothes on.

And what are the circumstances in life when "members of the opposite sex [are] in there watching?" Does MAMZ really believe that women want to watch him undress, or that gays want to look at his underpants. Even if that were so, would that really make him so uncomfortable? It seems to me that MAMZ was acknowledging that there was no one at all in front of whom he would feel comfortable getting undressed.

Trying to find the sexual logic in this, without any information except that which MAMZ himself provided in his letter to the editor, it seems more likely to me that MAMZ's real fear is that he, himself, will become attracted or aroused by seeing other soldiers changing "their underpants." Like so many of MAMZ's statements, he criticizes gays without ever clearly stating whether or not he, himself, is gay. Whether or not he is gay is relevant to determining whether MAMZ is a homosexual homophobic hypocrite, like Senator Larry Craig. MAMZ has never, to my knowledge, stated that he, himself, is NOT gay.

It is not unusual for MAMZ to deny the public even the most basic information about himself, to the point of refusing to tell the public what the "C" in the name "Markos C. Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga stands for. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Getting back to President Obama, there are two ways that the Administration can honor its commitment to overturning DADT:

The administration can stop defending DADT in Court and file a brief agreeing with the plaintiffs who opposed the rules against gay service in the military,or
The president can overturn DADT during the lame duck Congressional season, where Republican-minded Democrats have nothing to lose by supporting the president.

[UPDATE] of 11/08/2010: The Northern Illinois University's Northern Star Student newspaper link to the letter below has changed not just three but now FOUR times in three years since my first publication of this letter at various blogs, but it can currently be found here .

MAMZ appears to try to represent the views of the whole military in the above letter, but a female military person tells him he should try to mature rather than focus his sexual immaturity on gays in the military.

Cheryl Anndel, a senior at Northern Illinois University when MAMZ was a freshman there wrote the above letter to the editor, disagreeing with MAMZ's contention that gays in the military would hurt cohesion, etc.
